"Equally worrisome is the ever-growing gap between rich and poor," the apostle said. "Statistically, those who have less education and consequently lower incomes are less likely to marry and to go to church, and much more likely to be involved in crime and to have children outside of marriage."

An idea, a plan and more than seven million hours of work is now reality — City Creek Center, built on three downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, blocks, is complete and open to the public.
“We’re so pleased to join with the Taubman Company in inviting the world to come to downtown Salt Lake City,” announced President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). President Eyring spoke during the ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opening City Creek Center. He talked about the “beautifully landscaped walkways and gathering places, innovative and yet timeless architecture, cascading waterfalls, choreographed fountains and meandering creek.”
President Eyring said, “Everything we see around us is evidence of the longstanding commitment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Salt Lake City. The Church’s unwavering commitment to this community is enduringly expressed in the resources provided to renew and revitalize here in the heart of the city.”(LDS Newsroom)
Every year, 3.1 million children die from malnutrition-related causes – accounting for 35% of children’s deaths. The scale of the problem is huge. The chronic form of malnutrition, known as stunting, affects 178 million children – one-third of all children under five-years old in developing countries
Children who are stunted are shorter than average. Their brain development is also affected, which has major implications later in life on their schooling and productivity.
From 2005, world food prices rose steadily, peaking in 2008. In most countries, prices remain higher than they were from 1997 – 2007, and in some countries they have yet to decline.
This has serious implications for the survival and future of millions of children. We estimate that the 2007-08 food price crisis resulted in at least 4.3 million more children becoming malnourished.(Save The Children)
