Nope, that's not part of the gospel plan.

Bump for ldsfaq ... well you answered the currently single with the tax return.

So kids, married previously in the temple?

Well, no response, I'll assume you were married in the temple and do have children. So, now single (and maybe seen as somewhat of a failure in the whole plan of happiness sense), are you even active in the church at this time?

But it was part of the Gospel Plan in the 1800's so presumably it will be again.
Let's say you died and your wife decided to be sealed to another man. Still comfortable?

What if the Prophet announced that, in order for the Gospel to be fulfilled, all Mormon women needed to be sealed to an Apostle as well as to their respective husband and move to Utah. That way all the ladies would be guaranteed a place in the Celestial Kingdom even if their husbands fell away from the Gospel. That'd be okay right?

All? I may lose my testimony if that happened, but I'm confident that it wouldn't.

You see this is the problem with your testimony.
It is only confirmation of the values and beliefs that you inherently hold. If it can be lost because of an instruction from God's chosen Prophet then it really isn't a testimony of the Gospel. If it was, and you believed Monson is a Prophet of God then your testimony should facilitate you going along and supporting his decision regardless of how you felt about it personally.

You asked me a hypothetical question. What if he asked all members to kill themselves? I would then think that maybe he was a fallen prophet.

You are just reinforcing my point.
Your belief in Prophets is not a belief in Prophets.
You only believe they are Prophets when they confirm something that you already believe or that matches your inherent values.

You are missing the point! I have confidence in them because they have shown good judgement in my opinion. I am saying that if they suddenly started using bad judgement, then, of course, I would lose confidence in them! "If God were not just, He would cease to be God."
