If they are solely plant eaters then they are not carnivores. Carnivores cannot eat plants for sustenance. To do so you will need to change their teeth and give them the ability to digest plant matter for sustenance. Problem is that once you do, you no longer have the same animal or species.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Until until after the flood. Genesis 9
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
So the argument can be made that nothing ate meat from the garden till after the flood. How this works with species that are obligate carnivores, like felines, without entirely re-working the critter is beyond me, but hey... I am not a literalest, just stating their beliefs.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.
Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality. ~Bill Hamblin
Actually, that is not correct. There are many Bible verses which show that meat was eaten before the flood. In fact, it was ordained of God shortly after the fall:
"Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." Genesis 9:3

When! In the history of the earth, did the flood and the fall happen?

Nope! Genesis 9 is post flood. When did God say before the flood for man to eat meat? When did animals start eating meat?

It is widely considered that eating meat came about after the "Fall of man" for the obvious reasons...a life without death for all was simply that. (and please, let us not strain the gnat by starting a debate about mosquitoes - If God created Eden then He surely sustained mosquitoes, only imposing the blood larvae requirement after the fall...just as He surely gave the Lion an appetite for gazelle)

Sorry guys for my stupid mistake! I have read all the scriptures a number of times, but I don't remember them too well at times. I found that verse on the internet and was thinking incorrectly that chapter 9 was before the flood, and when I got home and looked I realized my mistake. I've done dumber. It reminds me of the time when I was in elementary school and not prepared for a quiz, as usual. It was a short quiz of only 15 questions, but the teacher took off 10 points for each question missed. I missed either 12 or 13 and ended up with a score below 0.
Anyway, even though I have found nothing concrete, I believe that not only animals, but man became carnivorous after the fall. I think that Abel and others probably ate some of those sheep he was caring for. In fact, even in the sacrifice of the firstlings, I believe that the blood was sprinkled on the alter, drained, and then the flesh was eaten. I believe that this practice was restored later (see Numbers 18:29, I think).

Again, when do you believe the fall took place? (Give or take 1,000 years)
