Who said the Church wouldn't have ups and downs?

This is where you are hiding after running away from Runtu. It might be wise and build a lot of credibility to just own up an admit to being wrong, but I suspect based on your posts that this will be to hard for you.

The last time the church had a down was during Joseph Smith time. This time around it may be more permanent. We live in a different world where scientific discovery is opening the eyes of man. The LDS church really does stand to lose the most from this. This is why many religious have such a hatred towards the scientific community. At least in the areas that do not support what they want to believe.

Let's not forget that the US government stopped Mormonism dead in its tracks by halting the practice of polygamy while several church leaders ran off and went into hiding because they were too afraid to cease the practice and face up to the real powers that govern. Yes, one of the grand practices of Mormonism was stopped as there will be others to follow. Church leaders continue to teach their youth about the so-called evils of masturbation but this too will be brought to an end when the courts finally step in and tell the church to stop this practice or risk arrest and prosecution for child abuse.

Yes, I see lot's of changes for Mormonism and its going to be real hard for the faithful to endure them. In this day of knowledge wherein Google is sweeping the world it will become harder for the Mormon church to hide their embarrassing history. Pretty soon, it will be a shame for anyone to want to join this church because people will point out the embarrassing parts of their history and the fact that the prophets never prophesy and use the so-called powers of their divine office. What a sham!

Let the church begin to shrink and its army grow weaker and weaker. Just watch the General Authorities trip up. Their tight run system will eventually start to crack and crumble to the ground.

One thing that I have noticed is that you really don't hear a lot about masturbation now. Of course, I brought up girls in the youth program, not boys. I will be keeping a very close guard on what my son is taught when he gets to be mutual age.

I'm sure they are still hounding the boys over it. It's like a rite of passage the men like to do to the boys. Heck, if the adults couldn't do it when they were kids they sure aren't going to let the next generation do it either. The church is so focused into anti-masturbation that they simply can't climb out of that pit. It will take the court system and the government literally threatening the leaders with jail time unless they stop that practice. The time is coming when the church will take a beating for the damage they have caused to untold numbers of youth. I look forward to the day and will certainly be clapping when the government smacks the church down.

Just thinking about the pain I suffered at the hands of the church over this issue makes me ill. I want justice and the church to pay up. It's only a matter of time and lawsuits will overrun the church.

"A man is accepted into a church for what he believes and he is turned out for what he knows." - Samuel Clemens

The name of the "king" in Facsimile No. 3 of the Book of Abraham is Isis. Yes...that is her name.

That was back in the days before science. Men were still roaming about with swords and clubs trying to invent the scariest gods to woo their clans into submission. And look what we have today: Mormons actually believe those stories took place! The Mormon church enjoys stepping back into the Dark Ages and pretending in all kinds of things. They are a backwords people. When you see a Mormon missionary, just say, "No". Then ask him what is the name of the king written in the writing of Facsimile No. 3. He'll probably respond by saying he doesn't read Egyptian. Tell him that Joe Smith couldn't either.

Did you ever check with FAIR about that king, or perhaps you have just made up your mind already and no matter what you see it won't change. Be careful, the stone keeps growing and growing. Don't let it crush you!

Do you even know who you are talking to and my history in LDS apologetics? Listen pal, I can read Egyptian. And, I can tell you that there is no king's name written in the writing of Facsimile No. 3. I don't care what kind of garbage the guys at FAIR are pushing these days. There IS no king's name. It doesn't exist.

And what stone is going to crush me because I happen to know the truth about the writings contained in the Facsimile and how Joseph Smith lied about them in order to act like a translator?

You must be a troll. No one is this ignorant. But I do enjoy ramming the Facsimile Explanations down your throat and I know you cannot bear testimony to the truthfulness of Joseph's explanations which have been disproved scientifically.

You've lost the argument. FAIR can't save you and your prophets don't know what to say. But as I say, I think you're a troll and wasting my time.

gdemetz,

After further contemplation I consider you to be a troll on this board and a dishonest person at heart. Therefore, I am putting you on my IGNORE list. I will no longer read the propoganda you generate or respond to you.

I don't care about your soul -- go to heaven or burn in hell, I don't care. As far as I'm concerned you're not worth my time.
