Hello gdemetz,

My present understanding is that the fighting between the Mormons and the surrounding population were caused by comments made by Joseph Smith with regards to his claims that God had given the land to them and they should drive off all the settlers who were already living there. If that isn't the case then why did the range war erupt?
May all your naps be joyous occasions.

That understanding is not accurate. You should review the entire history of how the saints tried to live a peaceful life to themselves, and yet were constantly driven from place to place (inspired by Satan) until they finally were driven all the way to what is now the state of Utah!

According to whom....only Mormons? The Mormon usurping of the priesthood that rightfully only belongs to Christ is well known among ALL Christendom not just evangelicals. Only Christ measures up, surpassing the King of Salem to whom Abraham gave tithes. The only priesthood existent at the time of Christ was the Levitical priesthood which requires holders to be literal descendents of Aaron. The High Priest who presided over the "trial" of Jesus was a holder of the Levitical Priesthood and none held any other kind of priesthood....a priesthood which by lineage Jesus was not qualified to hold. There is only one high priest and that is Jesus and since he will never die it will not be passed on to anyone else the way the office was under the Levitical priesthood. We need no other High Priest but Christ himself. Your weak protestations to the contrary have no value or standing in the legitimate history of the Jews nor with the overwhelming body of religious scholars.

You are really dumb, Albion, just like so many other evangelicals! I even gave you many quotes in the Bible that clearly stated that men were MADE kings and PRIESTS, and even showed you how this was conferred. by the laying on of hands! Also, Paul writes that no man should take this honor upon himself unless he was called of God as Aaron was called! Do I really have to go back to primary and give you more references again as I did for baptism for the dead?! You apparently don't except what the Bible clearly states!!! "HATH MADE US KINGS AND PRIESTS"!!!

I see that once again you fail to back up your 'gum bumping' with anything resembling substance. Back to 'ignore' for you troll...
