You are an idiot for asking me to produce such a document when even the anti Mormons admit there was one! Besides, why would you need to see that anyway, [insult deleted], when all have plainly testified of it and you know it! Also, these were all men of good report and whose testimony would have been accepted in any court of law prior to that time!

Why has their testimony been changed?

It's all kind of like Frank James testifying to the honesty of his brother Jesse James.

I believe what is being asked for is a copy or facsimile of the original signed testimonials. This is done all the time. There are photographic copies of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. There should be easy access to such materal, if one knows where to look and if it actually exists... The Bible does warn people against calling someone a fool. It is not constructive.

And if the LDS Church took them as serious proof, there would be. Since they don't make a serious attempt to print and distribute the signed witness statements, I don't see why anyone else should take them as serious evidence either.

gdemetz wrote:You guys would really love to change history, but guess what? You can't! The facts remain that:
1- There were three reliable witnesses who saw the angel and the plates and never over the years changed their testimony!
2- There were eight reliable witnesses who saw the plates and never over the years changed their testimony!
3- This makes a total of eleven reliable witnesses who saw the evidence and signed documents which bore that testimony, and makes you look stupid, as usual!
I wouldn't say reliable, but if they signed a witness statement that is in the Book of Mormon why have you not provided it. If the church has it they would have shown it by now. You are the only one looking stupid at the moment in that you don't get it. As to changing testimony we can't go by the ones in the Book of Mormon since we don't have a signed docement, so what they may agree with or disagree with regarding them is not really known. It really is not a simple issue.

It still doesn't change the fact we don't have any signed documents which would make them of more value.

The church would have printed them for all to see if they had signed document. If there ever was one it is currently lost.

Re: Contradiction in the Book of Mormon?
You missed my point. If these were to be used as signed witness statements, they should have been printed that way in the Book of Mormon when it was printed. They were perfectly capable of doing that if that was the intent. The fact it wasn't done speaks volumes about how seriously anyone should take those statements.Themis wrote:The church would have printed them for all to see if they had signed document. You guys should compete in the dumbest of the dumb contest! Even the anti Mormons sites acknowledge that, not only did the men sign, but they never changed their testimony, at least concerning the basics of the event! Albion, you are as lost as usual! None of these men were criminals!

No point when you are a sure win for this contest.

Yet when we ask you to back up these assertions you continue to fail. I am not aware that anti-morons or critics in any real number say there was a signed document. As to changing their testimony I doubt you read any links given. Now I am not talking about changing testimonies. We have many statements to look at, and the two in the Book of Mormon are not as valuable as others since they are not signed by these men. This is a point you continue to ignore since you know there is no signed document available. If there was one we don't have it today, so we can only go on what we do have.
