Luke 23
8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.

9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

Matt 12
34 You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Frank,
None of the miracles you offered would prove a resurrected Jesus who is the savior of the world. Please furnish a scenario that evidences redemption from sin.

The evidence you request will not come. We are to live in faith not evidence. There will be a time in which the mystery of God will end. It is part of the prophecy of John.

I feel awash in evidence of God. But I only came here by blind faith. Once here grounded in faith I no longer needed evidence. Now I am surrounded by it. I wonder why it is that some require a bridge of stuff where others leap across the gap with no bridge?

There once was a man who was a captain of a ship. He transported slaves as his cargo for many years. Then one day he saw what he was doing with new eyes. In his sorrow he repented of his sins. In his grief he wrote a song. Maybe you have heard of it, it is called Amazing Grace. Sing it some time and see if you feel what he felt as he humbled himself before God. If your heart cries out you just may get some of that evidence of redemption.

My heart cried out when I saw "Saving Private Ryan". was that evidence of redemption too? Or how about when I cried at the end of "Ole' Yellow"?

I can not see into your heart, you would have to tell me. But if forced to guess I would say no, you did not receive evidence of redemption.

But if my heart cries while singing amazing grace then THAT is evidence of redemption?

If you're a dog lover, crying at the end of "Old Yeller" may have brought you closer to God then "Amazing Grace".
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

John Winger(Bill Murray): Who saw "Old Yeller?" Who cried when Old Yeller got shot at the end?
[raises his hand]
John Winger: *sarcastically* Nobody cried when Old Yeller got shot? I'm sure.
[hands are reluctantly raised]
John Winger: I cried my eyes out...

No. I said if you feel what he felt. I know this is so hard for you. But feel free to make a joke of what I say. That it seems comes easy to you. I wonder if the two are connected. You taking this to be a joke and you not humbling yourself before God. Just who do you humble yourself? I suspect that platform you stand on has just enough room for one. The problem is the world is filled with many who stand on similar platforms all trying to make their platform just slightly higher than the next. I can see a sea of them. You have many friends.
