I do agree with the part about it being lovely though.

That's technically correct. The Gita is available in book form though, on it's own and is much less daunting to the uninitiated.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

The Bible does not say God created either space or matter.

Personally interpreting the Bible is one thing.

Rewriting it is quite another.

What is earth made of? Space and Matter ------ atoms. It's all the same. Since God made the Heavens and the Earth. He made Space & Matter. Scientists tell us that most of what we see is made of space anyway. I call that a miracle. And that is what God does.

Genesis 1:9-13 God moves the water to reveal the dry land, and the first form of life He creates is plant life. And this is created to produce seed after the various species. This happened between the evening and morning --- day three.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

9 And God saith, `Let the waters under the heavens be collected unto one place, and let the dry land be seen:' and it is so.

10 And God calleth to the dry land `Earth,' and to the collection of the waters He hath called `Seas;' and God seeth that [it is] good.

11 And God saith, `Let the earth yield tender grass, herb sowing seed, fruit-tree (whose seed [is] in itself) making fruit after its kind, on the earth:' and it is so.

12 And the earth bringeth forth tender grass, herb sowing seed after its kind, and tree making fruit (whose seed [is] in itself) after its kind; and God seeth that [it is] good;

13 and there is an evening, and there is a morning -- day third.

I believe you are arguing from your conclusion.

You believe that God created everything (i.e., space and matter) from nothing.

Hence, when you read the Genesis creation account, that is what you interpret.

But that is not what it says . . .

True.

I must also say that I found it more accessible than other parts of the poem. What I gathered from it is that we must do what we were born to do without fear of the outcome. Very inspirational.

I understand Robert Oppenheimer was fond of this quote (and rightly so).

Robert was not just fond of this quote, he was fond of the Sanskrit language as a whole, and he read the entire Gita in the original. His mind was like a diamond. The statement, though, comes from a later interview. On the day of the Trinity test, like pretty much everyone else who was there, he could only stand in stunned silence.

I do use the Bible to understand the Bible. I will give you one verse (at this time) to prove what I say is an honest assessment. As we go through the Bible more will come. See Colossians 1:16

New International Version (©1984)
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

New Living Translation (©2007)
for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

English Standard Version (©2001)
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

International Standard Version (©2008)
For by him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether they are kings, lords, rulers, or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010)
By him was everything created which is in Heaven and in The Earth: everything that is seen and everything that is unseen, whether Thrones or Dominions or Principalities or Rulers; everything has been created by his hand and in him.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
He created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. Whether they are kings or lords, rulers or powers- everything has been created through him and for him.

King James 2000 Bible (©2003)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

American King James Version
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

American Standard Version
for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;

Douay-Rheims Bible
For in him were all things created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominations, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and in him.

Darby Bible Translation
because by him were created all things, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or principalities, or authorities: all things have been created by him and for him.

English Revised Version
for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;

Webster's Bible Translation
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are upon earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Weymouth New Testament
For in Him was created the universe of things in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, thrones, dominions, princedoms, powers--all were created, and exist through and for Him.

World English Bible
For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.

Young's Literal Translation
because in him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through him, and for him, have been created,

Genesis 1:14-19 God spoke light into existance to serve as guidance, mark holidays and time. God made one great light to govern the day and a softer one to govern the night. God also made the stars. And this all happened the forth day from evening to morning.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning —the fourth day.

Why not skip ahead to Genesis 6 when God regrets he made the whole mess and decides to start over by wiping everything off the face of the earth.

He should have got it right the first time....since he's God and all that.

God is often saddened by the mistakes we choose to make... He put His feelings in human terms so we might understand.
