That there is a God.

Prophets are pointless if they are just telling us what most of the planet already believes (without evidence).

If you mean that I'll never understand a person like you, you are correct.

I, on the other hand understand you all too well.

I disagree. MLK Jr and Gandhi were anything but pointless.

Where did MLK & Ghandi ever claim they were prophets?

I didn't ask you to follow him, I asked what you disagreed with. Apparently you agree with everything he said. And a FYI, people are people - not Satan, God or whatever caricature you wish to attach to them because of your obvious biases.

Obviously, you missed the point as usual. Anyone can say anything that might be the truth. Even the devil. That doesn't mean they are inspired by God, or speak for him. And the caricature attachment was all your own. Nicely done, by the way.

Ah, so in your world, a prophet of God must get up on a hill, split the Red Sea and state, "I'm a prophet of God. Now everyone listen up."

Some of us are a little better grounded in reality than you are. We view prophets of God as truth speakers, called of God to do what they do. And many people view MLK Jr as a prophet as do many people view Gandhi in a similar vein. I certainly do. http://hebrewbible.wordpress.com/2011/04/14/mlk-a-prophet//

Maybe I didn't read what you said slowly enough? The truth is the truth. Either you agree with it or you don't. Apparently you agree the Mormon prophets tells the truth. You should listen to that.

Anyone believing in prophets can not claim to be grounded in reality, as there are no "real" examples. They all invoke some claim to the metaphysical, or better stated hypothetical and imaginary.

Try again.

It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

According to you, it is all in "our" heads. I guess you'll never really know till after you die. I hope it turns out the way you expect and you just cease to exist. A pretty hopeless ending to wait for, but good luck with that.
