It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Hi Steelhead!

We would have been deceived and counted among the false prophets if we prophesied or predicted the fulfillment of scriptures looking at the years and days as markings of time. Daniel and Apostle John were both trained in Judaism and the symbolism of numbers - for actually in Hebrew there are no numbers, only letters which have deep meaning. This reveals to us that they saw the marking of time in days and years as symbolic of spiritual processes, or the becoming of creation.

And so if one wishes to discern, to learn, what 7 and 70 and 490 days, weeks, and years means in holy writings, they will need to look at the gematria of these numbers or the Hebrew letters that are represented by these numbers.

And so 490 years does not mean 490 weeks or years in the marking of time, but 490, which is Tau Tzaddi, or the completion of righteousness. Now what this means is simple, yet fuel for much contemplation! 490 has happened and continues to happen and will happen! Indeed we can look back at history and point to times in which Tau Tzaddi manifested in this world! We can look at our history since the days of Daniel and see that this spiritual process that he was speaking of did happen, we might even be able to play with numbers in prophecies and make it sort of kind of fit a certain passing of time. But the purpose of these 'numbers' in revelations is not to tell us exactly when something will happen, but what spiritual truths will play out and manifest in space-time.

For the way to discern what will happen is in looking for the energetic play and processes in this world, the influx of Light and Love, through the eyes of the Law that has been establish to sustain and guide creation, not the counting of days.

Shalom!

I read this and will check into what it says. But it is Christ who said that the city would be destroyed in one generation. That as defined by Moses is 38 years. The city was destroyed in 70 AD. Which means that Jesus made the statement in 32 AD. That lines up with Anderson. As to the exact day I am not to concerned but I would not be surprised if the prophecy of Dan 9 was not carried out to the day. And this is because it was Christ who said "thy day". Luke 19:42
