I am not concerned with whether LittleNipper thinks I am going to hell or not. I am encouraging Him to keep trying to love others. That's what we should all be doing. It's difficult to do when people like you live for the fight. We can still remember to love you no matter how you try to cause another to stumble and lose their faith.
I realize that some of the problems I bring up can make people upset. Tobin is a perfect example. I still like him as I do you and everyone else here. There are a few posters which spew hate, but I am not one of them. I can get lively, not so much for the fight, but the usually blaming the non-believer as you and others have done, and not dealing with the issues. At the end of the day I still like you, even though I don't know you. You need to sit back and relax. I think you are very prone to make a lot of incorrect assumptions about people here. This is just a forum we can discuss things LDS. I agree that Love is one of the most important things we can have and give in life. I have no hatred towards the church, and especially not it's members. I still attend some of the time and associate with members. You could say I am more a social Mormon.

Well, given the chronology from the Bible record, we can place this supposed happening at around 2,300 bc.
There are civilisations that have a consistent record of being in existence before that period and after it. With no interruption, such as their civilisation being wiped out by a flood.
Not only that, but civilizations that the Hebrews supposedly wiped out by genocide are shown to have not been wiped out all at once in a mass genocide/war. Hmmm

So another-words the global flood has been proven not to have occurred.
I dunno. The unbroken record of forest fires (upright burned trees) in Yellowstone for 20,000 plus years and the coral record are pretty convincing. There's much more. However, compare to the Book of Mormon horses issue for which there is merely no evidence against, just an interpretation of the absence of evidence (which is not science).

Thus, they can keep the second Great Commandment perfectly even though they are living outside of the law of God. There are many who DO believe in Christ who cannot love others perfectly because they judge and condemn others (though they will say that they aren't condemning anyone...they claim they are trying to save us and that we condemn ourselves by not agreeing with them).
Who is going to appear justifed to Christ? The one who truly loves others? Or the one who claims to love God but does NOT love his neighbor? The Bible already gives us the answer to that question.
To me it does not matter what a person believes, or says, or does. I try to love them all. We need to look beyond what a person does in the flesh, and see them for who they really are. In the same way, we need to see ourselves for who we really are. Until we do, we cannot truly love ourselves or love others; even though we can see ourselves and others in bodies of flesh and blood. If we cannot love who we have seen, how can we begin to truly love who we have not seen (i.e., God)?
Jo, I just had to commend you for those comments! I sincerely think these are the wisest comments I have yet seen on this forum! This is the "baby" that must not be thrown out with the bathwater!

No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

this is actually not evidence against a global flood, but merely evidence that is conflicting with the assumed date of the global flood. So, what you say here does not actually speak to the flood but to the chronology...for which the date of the flood may be inaccurate but the date of your "convincing" coral and burnt trees may also be inaccurate. The date of anything beyond a few thousand years is highly suspect and requires a bit of assumption (no matter the probability) from either perspective...but again, not influence on the actual occurrence of a flood.

Actually the dating methods have been proven over and over again as accurate, and we can use different methods to confirm the accuracy of other methods. This really is just a weak attempt by young earth groups. I suggest you go to the actual sciences and learn about dating methods. Now you bring up the idea of a global flood at an earlier date, and I have given you any time during which modern man like Noah could have been roaming the earth. Another one that bcspace didn't bring up is dating in genetics. The biblical story really doesn't have much more then the 4-10k years ago to occur, but I did give you a lot more time then that. Good luck.
