Mwahahaaaa,
Here comes God again,... You don't think...I know what it means.
Please elaborate on what YOU in your mind, don't think I know in mine... and how it is YOU don't think, I know?
are you using Magic to read my mind?
Plagerism is a term I have chosen... What makes you think you know better?
So you are instead just trolling this forum... thanks... welcome to ignore.

ummm, excuse me....but.......that is still not support for "relativism"
Well, it's support for relativism if you believe Joseph Smith.
Would you care to explain why it isn't?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

why? because you say so? was it such an incredible inference that the conclusion must surely be what you concluded it to be?

Joseph's point of view seemed to be singular on the matter and based on an absolute truth, there was no change in principle.

Well, he was writing Nancy about having sex, but also mentioned "thou shalt not kill" as an example of relative principles, ie: principles which varied depending on the circumstances. So I would disagree that Joseph's comment was meant to be narrowly construed to the specific request he was making of Nancy.

Are you arguing that "relative truth" is merely an incorrect description of what should more aptly be described as "absolute truth, but humans can never understand this and thus are always subject to different interpretations of it delivered by God through his prophet as the circumstances change?"

unless it was part of a larger allegory you are unaware of...but seemingly 'assumptions' are not something you shy away from

1. No 2. No
However, my opinion is that one can not accept the existence of God without acknowledging that an absolute truth exists. (and vice versa)

I have been away from this thread for a few days, and have just finished catching up with the comments since I last visited it. It is more obvious than ever that the conclusion stated in my OP is simply inescapable. The mere participation of subgenius, Tobin, LitteNipper and others, all of whom have mutually contradictory convictions, that they each insist are divinely inspired, convincingly reinforces the validity of that conclusion. That they seem incapable of perceiving that blazingly obvious fact is both amusing and sad!
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Funny, this is your view and you have a right to it, but it is you, Themis, Drifting and company that we are disputing with (not each other). Since that is the case, maybe it is you that is way off base.

So, you no longer dispute the validity of LittleNipper's claim that the Holy Spirit and god confirmed to him that the Book of Mormon is not true? Do you really deny that you disagree with both subgenius and LittleNipper on whether the current leadership of the LDS church is acting according to divine direction and revelation? Do you really dispute the fact that most all of the world's religions disagree with each other on what constitutes divinely revealed truth?
