Stopping the sun would have other consequences, but the sun does not orbit around the Earth. So stopping the sun's motion would not stop the sun in the sky.
Joshua and his army were not scientists. They knew that the sun stop its travel across the sky for a measurable period of time. What more can you ask for? What that means or how God may have done it, is beside the point. The event occurred according to an eyewitness account. What a honest scientist should do is see if any other cultures recorded an event in their history. The next thing would be is to see if such a thing could be caused to happen through some atmosphereic event. To simply ignore such is not scientific.

Actually he did provide some. It was a good source from which you could have gone on to find out more on why and how they come up how they conclude they arrived 10,000 years ago to Australia. Your just not interested.
So the Bible is literal and inerrant. Except when it isn't.
The sun stood still, and the moon stopped doesn't mean that the sun literally stood still, and that the moon stopped in its orbit (consistent with a earth centric cosmology, that is now known to be incorrect but which was common in the past) but that it may mean something else.
Atmospheric condition? An atmospheric condition is going to stop the sun and the moon? Or are you now saying that they didn't really stop?

In other words 'magic dunnit'.
What a shame that the God who can stop the sun moving saw fit to not stop the Tsunami, or the Haiti earthquake, or the famine in Africa, or...and on...and on...

LOL I hope you are not serious. Where is this evidence? Do you think it might be likely some people may have made up past lineages to make themselves seem more royal or more important. I suppose no one would ever do that though.
I, too, would love to see the evidence that the royal families of Europe can accurately trace their lineage back to Japheth.
First, I suppose this means Subby can demonstrate evidence that Japheth even existed as a real character who actually lived, rather than a mythological character. Then I trust that Subby will be able to point out to us the genealogies of actual European royal families that accurately, and believably trace their lineage back to this real man Japheth.

Japheth: The father of all the Indo-European peoples, it would be surprising indeed if his name had gone unremembered among them. As it is, we find that the early Greeks worshipped him as Iapetos, or Iapetus, whom they regarded as the son of heaven and earth, the father of many nations. Likewise, in the ancient Sanskrit vedas of India he is remembered as Pra-Japati, the sun and ostensible Lord of Creation. As time went by, his name was further corrupted, being assimilated into the Roman pantheon as Iupater, and eventually Jupiter (see Appendix 11). None of these names are of Greek, Indian or Latin origin, but are merely corruptions of the original name of Japheth. Both the early Irish Celts and the early Britons traced the descent of their royal houses from Japheth, as did also the early Saxons who corrupted his name to Sceaf

For those who take the genealogies of Genesis to be historically accurate, Japheth is commonly believed to be the father of the Europeans.
