Obviously if you have no faith in God it doesn't matter, but from the Christian perspective it also does a lot of harm...leading people away from a saving knowledge of Christ and into a false hope of an add on salvation based upon works and the religious system of a false prophet.

Concern over our eternal destiny? Despite the false propaganda put out by those who practice priestcraft in fear of their material livelihood, We Mormons ARE Christians and have accepted Christ as our Savior! Which even according to that false doctrine would make us "saved." On the other hand, those who do not follow Christ's teachings about salvation, but still claim to "believe," (as even the devils do) are the ones who should be concerned with their own salvation!

"Mormons" depend on Jesus, which is our very first principle of the gospel-"faith in Christ," however, unlike you evangelicals who give much lip service about your belief, we show our faith by our works as James stated! You are right, Mittens. If you take the Mormon claim of sun, moon and stars as representing three heavens you would have to take it one step farther and assume there are more than three heavens because the stars mentioned are indicated as having differing glories one from another. Glories simply does not translate to heavens in this passage which is all about comparisons of an earthly form, the human body, with that same body when it is resurrected to glory...it will be different just as the sun is different, just as the moon is different, just as the stars are different, with even the stars having differing brightness. It's a clear cut case of misinterpreting scripture to fit Joseph Smith's claims rather than verifying Smith's claims against scripture.
