Genius the prophet misunderstood Gods doctrine... So who can we rely on?

Well, according to the mopologists, every Prophet has misunderstood God's doctrine at some point or other, but fortunately the misunderstandings get corrected after they're dead...

The phenomenon is well known:

You guys should read my original post entitled, "Prophets and Apostles are not Perfect." God always rights the ship though! There is a big difference in a prophets personal opinion and a direct revelation from God, such as D&C 138.
