That's incorrect. Abraham was in fear of his own life, not hers. According to the scripture, they would've killed Abraham in order to make his wife a single woman again; killing her would've defeated the purpose entirely.
Fair enough, however my point is still made with the quote.
So the Bible and Book of Mormon agree, God justifies the "who" (his servants,) and the "what" (their acts.) As long as they are Gods chosen mouthpiece, they can break the commandments lie, steal, murder and commit adultery.
All for the greater Good of seed preservation and a faint trace of history.
