I think what bothers many conservatives is sex without negative consequences. The idea that some people are having a good time without paying the price in pregnancies seems to really rankle.

I am an anti-abortion conservative who moderately supports taxpayer-provided birth control.
But, like unemployment benefits and food stamps, I see it as an indicator of something being wrong with our society, and would hope that we can work towards a future in which it is not needed.

But they weren't always able to force other people to pay for it. Yes, count me in. As I said above, we'll gladly pay for it, because these people can impose far worse expenses upon us if we don't. Of course according to Krose that's just a myth, so maybe he's against the free birth control since it really isn't needed.
