why not? are you opposed to the American Disability Act?
Just that you would make this statement reveals how convoluted your post is on this topic.
Oh I think everyone understood what I meant, and I try to keep things simple and easier to understand to have better discussion. Funny from the guy who does the opposite all the time in order to hope top score some kind of points with those he likes to view as the enemy.
Just about everyone discriminates based on ability in sports. Otherwise we would be watching many like us here play in the NBA or NFL. The job market works the same way, but yes we should only discriminate based on one's ability to perform the job, not on other things like race, gender, or as you brought up, physical or mental disabilities.

Do you have any first hand or even second hand knowledge that the KKK is a "sick racist cult" Ill even stretch to 3rd hand knowledge. Can you say your oppinion is not derived from that of a mass media perspective?
It's easy to go to the source, and on my mission back in the day(not sure if they still do) you could go watch them walk through a black area of town. If you are white just make sure you let people know you are against the KKK.

and then of course there are the converse views, like how Mandela was consider an inferior black amongst blacks because he lacked the dominant features, or the Wolof society, the caste system in the Chad basin, Nigerian Osu system, Mauritania, the Boran view of the Watta, and so on....
so, comparatively speaking, one may argue that the church is quite liberal, with regards to discrimination, in these modern times.
What?
I just hope he does not mean it is acceptable for him to discriminate against black people and women to achieve the things he lists.

While agree with what you say above, I think you are wrong in the way you used it with the discussion in this thread because it is not relevant. The issue is providing an environment for people to live in which they will not be discriminated against based on things like race and gender. It does not mean that they have to do something they don't want to do. I wonder if your mistake comes from some of radical feminists who tended to think things like women should not cook or clean or stay at home. I think most would never want to tell people what they should want to do. Maybe the problem is that you may have attached equality to the idea of everyone should do or believe this to be happy.
Plus also (albiet maybe not related) People think we should strive for the greater good for humanity as the predominant factor in lifes choices. When I think we should strive for the greatest self joy ... because without that ... there really isn't much incentive to participate in life to begin with. There are universal laws at play that govern our interatction with one another, so we need not make that the driving force in our lifes actions. Ayn Rand had it right to say that being selfish is better than having a bleeding heart. imho
I think we should strive for the greater good of humanity(to improve the human condition), and this should include equality. We are all selfish to some degree, but many see that helping others can help themselves, as well as make them happy in just helping others.
Mktavish wrote: How did I know you were going to say that in response to this point? I see people as a color (even through the internet) and there you are. Not implicateing race , but an aura I suppose. To go out on a limb .... I see you as a 32 year old white male with a green aura. Rasied in a fairly stable family that didn't split up. You get along with your mom more than your dad. And maybe have 1-2 siblings. You find solace in moments of being alone with your thoughts. But I'm unclear as to whether you have a significant other (wife/girlfriend)
I don't mean to offend with this statement , was just a rolling off of what I felt. Telll me if I wrong ... or not.
You are wrong. It also does not deal with what I said and what you think may be incorrect about it. I think you are mistaking what I am saying. While I think we should strive for more equality, I am not suggesting the world will ever become some perfect utopia. We should always be striving to better the world, or it will probably get worse. You can also look back and see it is much better in parts of the world then it was even 50 years ago. I think we can make more improvements, and by doing so, including helping others, we make our lives better.
Mktavish wrote: Although I still say your arua does glow green.
I couldn't comment on this since I have no idea what glowing green is suppose to mean other then maybe I have been contaminated from radiation.
You do think that serving the greater good is better than serving yourself.
I think they are one and the same. I think we may be talking past each other. I do think we have to take care of ourselves before we can be in a better situation to serve others. More equality just allows people to have more choices in their lives, which I think will lead to more happiness.

hmm, you sound like a 1960s Dixiecrat (or Mormon apostle) explaining how the negroes were all perfectly happy and content around here until these outside agitators came in and got them all stirred up with this crazy notion of "equality" which is clearly impossible because God made us all different.
The KKK isn't a 'walk of life' it's a sick racist cult. Being Pope is like being Mormon Prophet - it's in the rules that you need a penis to hold office and, thus far, have white skin.
All the others are open to, and have had female/black skinned people.
(The Eskimo thing is a red herring because that's like saying a Norwegian can be a Dane...)
