Which is it?
Republicans tell us that the poor are in their current situation because they are lazy, rely on welfare and can't pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.
We are also told that there are so many poor people because Obama's policies didn't create enough jobs.
Then we are told that rich people, not the government, creates jobs and that poor people vote Democrat because they have been bewitched and see themselves as (welfare queen) victims despite the fact that poor white working males are more likely to be Republicans.
Which is it?
Are we victims of Obama's failed policy or welfare queens?

As soon as you concern yourself with the 'good' and 'bad' of your fellows, you create an opening in your heart for maliciousness to enter. Testing, competing with, and criticizing others weaken and defeat you. - O'Sensei

The Republican view of the poor seems remarkably similar to the Nephite view of the Lamanites...

This is false. Republicans are speaking about the millions added unnecessarily to the welfare rolls by the policies of the Democrats.

Both. Obama has failed to manage the economic downturns and has in fact exacerbated them. The "welfare queens" created and encouraged by left wing entitlement mentality continue to be a drag on the economy as well and tend to replicate.

"Unnecessarily?" Our country has been in the grips of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and you think it was "unnecessary" to provide more aid to those who fell victim to a recession beyond their control????

You are disgusting. You have managed to ignore the fact that millions of people have suffered genuine need in this recession, and then have dehumanized the same people by saying they "replicate."
I repeat. You are disgusting.

I think you're idea that you have the right to take money away from working people to fund the lifestyles of those who will not work or continue to have chidren they cannot afford is disgusting. Kevin Graham calls these people less fotunate than myself. There is nothing fortunate about the situation of the working man in this country.
We're tired of being the worlds police and we're also tired of being the worlds welfare supply. Make your own way and leave us alone.

I'm 99% confident that you take in more resources from government services than you pay into Ajax. You are the "welfare queen" by your own understanding of it.
That aside, welfare programs in the narrow sense do have built into them provisions that attempt to make people seek gainful employment in order to continue to receive benefits. This has been the case for most of my life, and your posting history continues to suggest you think of welfare like it still is 1978.

You have no idea what my finances are. 40% of my paycheck is gone before I get to make a single decision about it. Then I start paying my second mortgage called student loans. I would have called my current salary a fortune at one time. With our devalued currency and crappy economy it's barely enough to get by when you're the primary breadwinner.
And guess what, when I did work for $8/hr, I got zero help from any government program and neither did my family. Often times I was too sick to even hold one of those jobs, but it was either do or starve. For others, $8/hr wins you food stamps and medicaid.
"Unnecessarily?" Our country has been in the grips of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and you think it was "unnecessary" to provide more aid to those who fell victim to a recession beyond their control
And yet the Democrats want to import more poverty in the form of unskilled immigrant labor thus driving wages down even further to the point that anyone who has their citizenship will choose welfare because it pays just as well as going to work. Only to have more immigrants brought in illegally to do the jobs the now legal immigrants will not do.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

I have an idea because I've read your posts. You are almost certainly not wealthy enough to pay more into the system than you receive.
Ok. You clearly aren't that wealthy then.40% of my paycheck is gone before I get to make a single decision about it.
Then I start paying my second mortgage called student loans.
Those are loans you took out, right? I'm not sure what the point of this statement is besides a general complaint about the state of your financial affairs, but it would be especially awesome you, like many people, have a favorable interest rate because of government backing, ya giant welfare queen you.
And guess what, when I did work for $8/hr, I got zero help from any government program and neither did my family.
Did you drive on roads? Eat food? Did you live in a territory protected by the US military? Government services aren't simply welfare checks. I'm not suggesting that you have to be thankful or want every service you receive, but you do should have a sense about dollars in to dollars out when it comes to distribution of resources through the tax base. The progressiveness of the system ensures that very high income earners carry a much larger burden than others when it comes to paying for all the different services the government provides. I'm solidly middle income, and I'm pretty sure I get more than I pay in when it comes to total value. Bear in mind that I don't want the government to do as much as it does.
Your state is one of the worst in the country when it comes to direct funding from the federal government received vs. tax paid, by the way.
