Thanks but I am not a very proud Catholic at all. You see, I have been leaning further and further and further away from the Catholic church for several years now (I would appreciate it if you would keep that a secret between us though)

If my words came across as offensive in any way, I apologize.

Not at all, friend. (Perhaps this is an example of what I meant when I suggested how hard it is for all of us to communicate on these boards)

I was speaking about the possible risk of me potentially offended my LDS friends, should I have forced the issues with you.

I simply lean towards universalism.

I know!

What gave me a clue was reading all of your posts in this very thread!

Oh, and I don't think you are anti-Mormon.

I'm still not certain if I am or not.
As I said in this thread already, I am anti-Mormonism. So maybe that makes me anti-Mormon?

Thanks for engaging.

Peace,

Hi Ceeboo,

A few questions for you: in your view is Mormonism damaging to a person's potential ability to live as a christian as you fully understand that term to mean?

Is Mormonism viable? Is salvation possible within Mormonism without some influence that might occur despite Mormonism? Are Mormons potentially saved through Mormonism? I have the impression you see some Mormons as being christians and saved, but that is in spite of their Mormon backgrounds.

Without question, yes!

Is Mormonism viable?

Yes!

Is salvation possible within Mormonism

Yes (Salvation is possible for everyone, everywhere, always)

without some influence that might occur despite Mormonism?

Huh?

Are Mormons potentially saved through Mormonism?

No, Mormons are not Saved through Mormonism.
Mormons are potentially Saved through and by God! Period! (Just like the rest of the people on this planet)

I have the impression you see some Mormons as being christians and saved, but that is in spite of their Mormon backgrounds.

I never, never, never make any suggestions concerning who is (or is not) Saved.

Hi Ceeboo,

I appreciate your willingness to engage the questions.

My questions were aimed at refining how I would answer your question in the OP. Your answer to the first question was not surprising as you've clearly said you are against Mormonism.

Where I'm unclear, even still, is if you feel Mormonism provides the appropriate rights and knowledge sufficient for salvation? Or is there a difference between them and your faith that really matters?

Along those lines, I'd agree that Mormonism inherently places itself above others on the grounds to acheive exhaltation in Mormon theology requires membership and faithfulness to Mormonism. There is a highest heaven in the Mormon faith that is unattainable without becoming Mormon.
