Interesting statement! 'God exists because Jews exist'. I wonder if God is aware of this? I'm sure that god appreciates your passing along that information.

I'm guessing that if there is a God, he would be happy to take credit for creating all those other races, as well.

You really should read up on all of this. The Islamic (Muslims... check the spelling) religion is a spin off of the Jewish religion (as is Christianity). They have the same God and read mostly the same holy books.

You're going to have to get up to speed before posting here with any credibility.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

you guys are always so funny with your cursory understanding about everything. Perhaps being an atheist has its greatest benefit by not being burdened by common sense, logic, or reasoning.

as for the turtle

Similar to the Jñanaraja's rebuttal to your sophomoric jab at the tortoise -
A bird, which has only little strength, can remain in the sky holding prey in its beak for many hours. So, why is it unreasonable, that God, in the form of a tortoise, who possesses an inconceivable power, is not able to hold the Earth in the sky for billions of years?

You guys should really stick to forums that discuss topics with which you have at least some knowledge of and/or a desire to understand.....just sayin'

Interesting that you aren't burdened with a sense of humor.

And no matter how you phrase it, "an omnipotent god can do anything" isn't much of an argument.

So, what exactly is your point? I never said that those people were "Christians."Or that such behavior is righteous. I happen to be of the Protestant branch. We feel that the "church" was being corrupted. I like Martin Luther in many respects and did a report on him way back in junior high and got an (A+). And that was in the Delran New Jersey Public School System. This was about human CONTROL and nothing to do with God. I personally do not believe that the Pope is the head of the Church --- Jesus Christ is.

What, you don't think that parody and satire count as legitimate critical tools?
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately.

About blasphemy and inquisition.

LittleNipper wrote:So, what exactly is your point? I never said that those people were "Christians."Or that such behavior is righteous. I happen to be of the Protestant branch. Those people tortured and burned other people, in the name of Christ, in the name of god. Based on blasphemy. They called themselves christians - as You.

the "church" was being corrupted ???
Christ's church was corrupted? And did Christ allow it? How? Why?

Pope? Who cares the pope? His children did it...

My point is that if people can do this type of thing - hidden behind the mantle of religion, any religion (christian or "corrupted" christian or protestant or whatever) - then there is something wrong with religion. In general.

You are not corrupted - of course... - and got A+ about Luther. Congratulations! Unfortunately, many of Your cohort are corrupted. The all other type of christians. Of all other christian denominations. Your one denomination - be it called anything - is an exception. As You, personally.

I understand. Prophets come and go. Luthers, Calvins, Smiths, Moons - five cent a dozen. They preach corruption/restoration, renewing the christianity.

Are there 2000 christian sect/denomination? 3000? 13000?
All of them corrupted but Your one. Congratulations again. You can choose.
