Former Stake President takes over as MormonThink's Managing Editor

Tom Phillips has agreed to act as the managing editor of MormonThink. The last two managing editors resigned from the church after the LDS leadership called them to church courts for writing about church history and doctrine, as well as working on the MormonThink website.

Tom is a former stake president well qualified to speak to the issues. You can learn more about him at Tom Phillip's Home Page.

Tom will use his knowledge and background to carry on MT's goal to generate discussion about little-known topics of church history to those interested in increasing their knowledge about these fascinating doctrinal and historical issues. Tom vows to continue representing truth and provide the critic and faithful LDS with evidence to make informed decisions.

Interesting move.

Zeezrom, I guess our bet is on. I said that the Church would not try to discipline the next editor of MormonThink and you said they would. Now we shall see. I hope you win, MT will enjoy the publicity.

Yeah, this should be interesting. Now they have the bozo that thought going to the temple and dressing up gets you the second anointing and automatically seeing Christ and all that jazz. Uhhh, no. Although, I do like that he nailed Elder Ballard to the wall on his goofy theories that before Adam and Eve were introduced into the world, there was no death, and evolution and everything else we know from the geological record was suspended?!? Uhhh, space magic?!?

To avoid any confusion, I posted as Zeezrom for years at postmormon.org, and still post as Brad (Zeezrom). Here is the discussion LDS Truthseeker is referring to. http://www.postmormon.org/exp_e/index.php/discussions/viewreply/557843/

I think Tom is a pretty good choice in terms of our bet. For the record, I hope I'm wrong about the disciplinary action. I get the impression Tom looks forward to it.

Well played, MormonThink, well played.

Tom Phillips is not a bozo. He was a sincere believer same as you.
Now for the love of God don't derail another thread to make it about your off brand version of Mormonism.

Uh huh. He went off his nut as far as I can tell and betrayed the Church and everything he swore to hold sacred. There is the right way to correct the Brethren and the wrong way. He picked the wrong way.
