Conversion Stories

Post by _Investigator »

Are there any ex Catholics, ex Episcopalians, or ex Orthodox here?

Could you share your conversion stories?

Aren't there any adult converts here (or were you all born in the faith and baptized when you were eight years old?)

I've heard that LDS Church growth statistics were exaggerated, but aren't there any ex Catholics, ex Episcopalians, or ex Orthodox here?

I'm not asking you why they left the Church you were born into, I'm just asking you what Church you left to join the LDS Church.

I'm interested in where you come from, doesn't anybody want to share?

Hello inquiring mind,

I was raised Catholic. Back in 1972 I was in the Army in Colorado (Ft. Carson). There was a Mormon in my barracks. Him and some other Mormons were going skiing. I decided to become involved in skiing and activities of their church. Because of my involvment I lived a more religious life, and God answered one of my prayers (which will remain a private matter). Eventually I believed in the Book of Mormon and joined the LDS church. Feel free to ask any questions you like.
May all your naps be joyous occasions.

Gullibility and credulity are considered undesirable qualities in every department of human life -- except religion.

A would be robber pulls out a gun and pulls the trigger. The gun refuses to fire...
The fool says, "Ain't I the lucky one."
The believer says, "Thank you God."

How does one differentiate the believer from the fool?
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

The robber clears the jam, and shoots them both.

The Atheist would've recognized through is critical thinking skills that he either had to disarm the robber, or run away because of the threat presented. Whether he gets shot or not is a matter of skill on the part of the robber.

what jam?

after reading this post, clearly we see Dr.CamNC4Me as not a believer, obviously leaving....

(so much for critical thinking skills...another option is to shoot the robber)

And if it does fire, and one is shot in the guts, one says what to God exactly?
