You can show no link from the calamities of the past and the action of your god of vengeance outside of unsupported assertion.

Your version of god is unworthy of my worship, being a petty, trite, and spiteful imaginary friend.

If it had been within my power to stop the shooter, knowing his intentions, and able to stop him with minimal exertion and no personal risk, and yet I didn't; would I be labeled:
reprehensible
criminally negligent
?

Why does your omnipotent, omniscient, benevolent, imaginary friend get a pass?

God is ever present. He is in the past, present, and future at the very same time. He knows what the furture holds and how everything will come together. He also is the Creator. You are but an ant. How many ants have you stepped on by accident? That must make you unfeeling and a terrible person. Sometimes rain must come so that people will appreciate the sun. The people of this present time do not respect what they have until it is gone... And then they will not blame their own actions. You want a candy man who will give you whatever no matter what you say, do, or believe. Sorry, my God is the Father and not some sidekick. God must deal with far more than your opinions of him.

Which shows the difference between your god and me. I value human life. Your god tortures people like ants under a magnifying glass, and wantonly steps on them.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

No, I think you are here to bolster your own insecurities. At some point you should consider that you may be sowing your own seeds and not those of God.

I haven't been able to find a Bible verse that states that the Bible is inerrant. Got one?

I'm quite sure that the Bible carries more weight than I do. I'm just a guy, but we are not really talking about the value of the Bible. Just the value of your opinions about the Bible.

Two very different things.

I have never told you to go away. Beside the fact that it's against board rules, I like that you post here because it provides for some good discussions.

I did suggest that you stop the verse-by-verse thing because it's very presumptuous and kind of makes you look foolish.

Google Chrome comes with a spell checker and is a free download.

You can also do a Google search for 'spell checker' and find a bunch of other free ones.

I think if I were to presume to speak for God, I would want to make sure that my grammar and spelling were correct.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

According to god, it is not necessary. See Joseph Smith...

- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Actually, I find you to be a very selfish individual, who is here to promote only yourself. Satan tortures people and belittles them and makes fun of them. You value this life. I think you may changing your tune in about 20 years. And those years (if you should live so long) will come upon you swiftly ---- old man.

You should be careful, Nipper. If I'm lowly and poor in heart (poor in spirit? I thought we were blessed.) the Chrome browser could be a tool of Satan.

With that warning in mind, you should give Chrome a try. I think you will find that it makes your postings much easier.

Another warning. You will still need to proofread your writing before posting. Spell check doesn't heal all evils.

Oops! A later addition to my post! I forgot to tell you that if you want to use spell checker in Google you will need to download an 'add on'.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search-extensions/spell%20check

While I'm making additions, I think I should also say that I don't dislike you, Nipper. It's just that you came here as a single issue poster. You seem to have come here to redeem us all. Most of us don't need redemption.

This is a very interesting community. You might want to suspend preaching for just a little while and get to know the people on this board and let us get to know you.

From your posts, I know nothing about you except that you have a strong desire to make everyone see the world from your perspective.

Participate in a few of the non-religious threads here and let us know who you really are. You might enjoy it and you might make some friends.

I wish for nothing else than for people to include God in their values and opinions. I want to be friendly, but some here are into controlling and have already made their minds up concerning creationism and God. I'm just trying to introduce/maintain a "christian" balance.

As Pierre-Simon Laplace said:
- "Sire, je n'A.I. pas eu besoin de cette hypothèse."
("No, Sire, I had no need of that hypothesis.")
Reputed reply to Emperor Napoleon I, who had asked why he hadn't mentioned God in his discourse on secular variations of the orbits of Saturn and Jupiter:
- "Mais où est Dieu dans tout cela?"
('But where is God in all this?').
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
