Priesthood for women
As a person who has much dealt with the Bible; do I ask myself the question why there are no women in the LDS, the RCC and many other churches, which are deaconesses, priestesses or parish priests?
Because it cannot come from the Bible.
Women who had the priesthood are reporting in the Bible. Yes, even a woman who was an apostle is mentioned by Paul in the Bible (Junia in Romans, 16:7) why so the RCC does not have any female cardinal or pope?
And why the LDS does not have a woman who is an apostle?
The church claims to be the direct succession of the early Church anyway. Therefore, dear prophet, then call women as Elders and HP, too!

As I understand it, although general consensus amongst scholars is the Junia is a female being mentioned (although not all scholars accept that), wriggle room is still available under the Greek translation as to wether she was "Highly regarded among apostles" because she was an apostle herself. Or she was a woman that the male apostles highly regarded.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

Do we even know for sure that this person was a woman? The King James renders the name Junia and says that together with Andronicus they are "kinsMEN". Later versions such as the New International Version render the name Junias. Junias in Contemporary English Version and also in the New American Standard Bible.

In the English language the concept man is used for a human being who also can be called "man". The word "woman" is derived from it. So Andronicus and Junia also can mean "kins(hu)man".

Re: Priesthood for women
why?
I mean aside from the RCC having many female chancellors; the LDS church having females in leadership roles and able to participate in ordinances, exactly what is your premise?
Is it that churches should anoint females to any position merely based upon their gender?
That the scriptures are somehow in support of gender homogeneity?
My opinion is that when it is earned it is given....all churches are still a theocracy...not democracy.
That being said, i am both skeptical and critical of any modern day exclamation of this topic...the motive tends to be self-involved and without rigor. The arguable and obscure reference of Junia is hardly cause for revelation let alone an administrative revision.
But, hey, make your case.

What do you mean by "earned"? Are you suggesting men have "earned" their leadership and women haven't? Clarification, please.

If the LDS church claims that they are the successor organization of the early Church; she then also must have the priesthood of the early Church. And to be more precise what it in the early Church was like so. This means:
No aaronic priesthood for minors
Priesthood for women
Equal rights of both gender.
Because in the 1st century there was an equality of the sexes in the early Church. This changed only as of about 250 AD,
Either whole or not at all!

This way of thinking is old fashioned.
He should read the Bible instead the Book of Mormon!
