LDS Missionaries among the Homeless?
Do LDS Missionaries ever go out among the homeless? Do they have a policy for or against such visits?

If LDS missionaries spend time with the homeless how will their shiny new $500 iPads help?
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

Well, from the recent announcement about proselytising, the LDS missionaries will be spending time with the homeless that have either a door to knock on or a Facebook account...

the short answer to the OP being "Yes"
This week's ward council involved a discussion about a new investigator whom the missionaries had encountered living in his van without employment. I am scheduled to participate in a team-up for his first lesson/discussion.

So, not helping him find food or lodging, but giving him a preach aimed at getting him baptised. Brilliant subby, truly brilliant.

However, you need to get your priorities straight, remember...
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”
...so you need to improve his impoverished condition before he will be able to blossom spiritually.
Let us know how you get on.

No! Of course they don't teach the homeless. How can they have family home evening if they don't have a home? Duhhh.
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love...you make. PMcC

once again your assumptions, incorrect and cynical as they so often are, reveal your true motives.
His temporal welfare is the main cause for my visit. As this pair of missionaries are sisters and them being unsure of his condition, it was thought best for the EQP to team up with them for initial contact rather than the RSP (whom, as i am sure you are aware, primarily coordinates food orders, etc.). I on the other hand typically coordinate the ward employment specialist.
Nevertheless, that was not the topic of the OP.

Yes, i remember...obviously...and thankfully i am a participant as opposed to your apparent position of being simply a spectator.

because of your sincere interest?...indeed

I have noticed that the LDS Church lacks specific ministries to address the spiritual/temporal needs of the homeless like a number of other faith traditions. Not sure why this is the case.

A typical missionary day begins by waking at 6:30 a.m. for personal study. The day is spent proselytizing by following up on appointments, visiting homes or meeting people in the street or other public places. Missionaries end their day by 10:30 p.m.
In some parts of the world, missionaries are sent only to serve humanitarian or other specialized missions. Those missionaries do not proselytize.
Missionary work is voluntary. Missionaries fund their own missions — except for their transportation to and from their field of labor — and are not paid for their services.
Contacts with family and friends during this time of service are limited to letters and occasional phone calls to family at special times. Missionaries avoid entertainment, parties or other activities common to this age-group as long as they are on their missions, so they can focus entirely on the work of serving and of teaching others the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Missionary work is about telling people what they should be doing as opposed to showing by example what the principles of the Gospel are supposed to be.

As an opposite of our beloved mini-Mussolini, Viktor Orbán used to say: "Don't watch what do I say, watch what do I do!"
He can say and do anything with his 2/3 supermajority.
by the way
He also appears in Football Manager 2006 game and in more different places:
