Who Am I?
1. Who am I? That is the central question of existence. I accept without doubt or taint of
uncertainty the answer as revealed in the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am that I am; I am an eternal, uncreated intelligent entity coeternal and potentially, coequal with God. I am an intelligence: a literal son of God the Father.
Who am I then? My attributes and understandings are the following:
1. I am eternal (not just infinite), having always existed in some state.
2. I am intelligent, possessing inherent capacities and powers of perception, awareness, thought, and
consciousness.
3. I am an individual intelligence, comprehending my individuation and distinctness from other
individual children of God.
4. I am free to choose between alternatives, whether these be alternative courses of action, or alternative
desires, perceptions, or patterns of thought.
5. Being a literal child of God, my capacities and potential are inherently limitless.
6. I can become like God. I can grow, develop, progress, and mature to become the same kind of being as my Father in Heaven. I can develop and attain to both his character and attributes.
7. The plan of salvation is eternal. All those who have gone before me to the realm of exaltation, and all those who shall struggle after me, have and will do so upon the same principles and against the same hostility, antagonism and opposition from forces determined to thwart that aspiration and destroy that
intrepid hope.
8. As an intelligent entity, in the larger, more comprehensive gospel sense, I have an inherent capacity to receive, assimilate, and comprehend light and truth. This is a natural, fundamental and intrinsic aspect of my sentient being, and is an inherent, underlying perceptual quality. It is not the same thing as intellect, and yet is strongly associated with it.

Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

Droopy's presentation quite clearly demonstrates the huge gulf between Mormonism and traditional Christianity.

Droopy, did you purposefully leave doing good or other thoughts of moral imperatives off that list for a reason?

Hello Droopy,

In your opinion, does God and/or those who work for him put our souls into our bodies or have we figured out how to inhabit bodies (without God's help).

Why are there two number ones in the OP?
Is that a clue about who you are?

Re: Who Am I?
Sometimes, maybe. Assume you are facing a ravenous man-eating tiger, and you think to yourself: "I wonder if it would like it's ears scratched?" There is a non-zero probability that this question has just become central to your existence.Droopy wrote:1. Who am I? That is the central question of existence.
OTOH, you could ignore the tiger and stick with "who am I?" -- the end-result would very likely be the same. In these situations it may be useful to assume that most tigers are essentially nihilists.
