The Book of Mormon contridicts Mormonism
"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret... … I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. … It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God and to know...that he was once a man like us.... Here, then, is eternal life - to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you... (“King Follett Discourse,” Journal of Discourses 6:3-4, also in Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345-346, and History of the Church, vol. 6, 305-307,)"
Why would we image and suppose God is God from Eternity ? because the Book of Mormon and Bible teaches it
An abridgment taken from the Book of Ether also, which is a record of the people of Jared, who were scattered at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people, when they were building a tower to get to heaven—Which is to show unto the remnant of the house of Israel what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers; and that they may know the covenants of the Lord, that they are not cast off forever—And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations—And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ.
Translated by Joseph Smith, Jun.
2 Nephi 26:12 And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God;
Moroni 7:22 For behold, God knowing all things, being from everlasting to everlasting , behold, he sent angels to minister unto the children of men, to make manifest concerning the coming of Christ; and in Christ there should come every good thing.
Moroni 8:18 For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.
Mormon 9:9 For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever , and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?
Mosiah 5:5 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.

You have the same problem Little Nipper has--you like to criticize Mormonism without first checking to see whether Mormonism's apologists have addressed the target of your criticism. The same game can be played just as easily with mainstream Christianity, whose beliefs are no less absurd than Mormonism's.
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately.

I think the question may be if all religions are man made religions. There are many contradictions in the Bible, as well. I know you have faith in your own religion, but faith and knowledge are two different things.
I know how easy it is to find fault in Mormonism. It's also easy to find fault in Christianity as well. One indoctrinated believer doesn't sound much different to any other indoctrinated believer to me.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Man made = diabolical? Is that what you're trying to say?
Isn't the Bible man made?

Scripture is God-breathed
2 Tim. 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." The word "inspired" is literally "God-breathed." This is an interesting phrase, since it implies that the Scriptures are from the mouth of God.
Likewise, Peter says in 2 Pet. 1:21, "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Notice that Peter is stating that prophecy is not the product of human will. Instead, prophecy occurs by those moved by the Holy Spirit.
God spoke through the mouth of the prophets. We see in Acts 3:18, "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ should suffer, He has thus fulfilled." Clearly, Luke, the writer of Acts, understood the Old Testament Scriptures to be spoken by God through the prophets. In fact, we find other references to the Old Testament referring to God speaking through the prophets.
•Words spoken through the prophet Jeremiah are referenced in Matt. 2:17, 27:9.
•Words spoken through the prophet Isaiah are referenced in Matt. 1:22, 8:17; John 12:37-40.
•Words spoken through the prophets Moses and Hosea are referenced in Matt. 2:15.
•Words spoken through the prophet David are referenced in Matt. 13:34-35.
•Words spoken through the prophet Zechariah are referenced in Matt. 21:4.
•Words spoken through the prophets generically are referenced in Matt. 26:56.
Because the prophets speak for God, write Scripture, and make prophecies, the Scriptures must be fulfilled. It is the written Scriptures that are referenced here. It is not some vague and ambiguous reference to some areas of the Bible that "contain" the word of God.

LDS.orgTypographical Errors
Adjustments have been made to resolve minor typographical errors in spelling, wording, and punctuation, restoring earlier readings of the text and maintaining the fidelity and integrity of the scriptures.
The 'most correct book' has been corrected many times since Joseph 'translated' it.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

2 Tim. 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in...blah...blah...blah...
But even if the Bible is "God-breathed" it's still man made, in which case it's diabolical because man made = diabolical, right? (At least that's what you seemed to indicate earlier.) And in any case, when you say "God-breathed" you're referring to Yahweh, right? Well, seeing as how Yahweh is a homicidal monster, it follows that the Bible would be somewhat diabolical as a result.
Which leads me to my next question: How many gods did you test drive before settling on Yahweh, the ancient war god of the tribal Hebrews? Why didn't you choose Gwanyin, the Taoist goddess of mercy? I'm sure you'll agree that Gwanyin is much nicer than Yahweh, who's a bit of a bastard. So why Yahweh and not Gwanyin?

Mittens, when you say "God-breathed" do you mean this?
