ACIM: radical but sensible?

Post by _Rei of Light »

Hi all, I'm new here. My recent cut-off from LDS-ism left me floundering for a time. Then I discovered the book called A Course in Miracles. It blew me away. I thought it powerfully explained every question I had in Mormonism. Anyone out there studying it? Be warned: I'm a slow poster because I live off-grid on the Canadian/Idaho border, so I only check the internet when I hike to town for groceries. When I left, I really left! Be doubly warned: The theories in A Course in Miracles are extreme--not for box thinkers. But I figure most who've left Mormonism are far from box thinkers..

It looks like a scam to me, but I'm willing to look at it. Is there an FREE online version somewhere? I'm not going to pay for it. Otherwise, post some of the content and ideas you wish to discuss.

If it looks good, we might take a fire walk as well. Does anyone know if they use caffeine-free briquettes?

ACIM is awesome but you should read Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard. I would not have understood ACIM without reading his book first.

Thanks for starting a thread with no tangible discussions points and then letting us know that you will rarely be around to participate in discussion.

And for the record most who have left Mormonism are simply not thinkers at all...they seem to be like those two old guys in the balcony on the Muppet show.

I manage to be quite outside the box and still conform to LDS doctrine.

You can't be quite outside the box and conform to LDS Doctrine.
What you mean is that there are LDS doctrines that you don't agree with but this isn't sufficient for you to be classed outside the box labelled "Believing Mormon".

I saw this post and bought the book yesterday (Disappearance of the Universe). Other than the claim of being visited by two personages, the book is making a lot of sense. Excellently written thus far.
