Thanks for that synopsis. I have been through some of the Facebook messages, listened to her interview, read some of the emails, etc. I am not where you are yet. I get the impression that the two of them were in a relationship. There. Discussions about being together were real. But, in the moment, the reality and severity of what was happening was palpable. Like I said earlier, both were on the fence. There is much missing context. They both played games, JD more than Rosebud, but it does take 2 to tango. The imbalance seems to be that JD really did want to make it work with his wife (and in my opinion, she should be left out of these conversations, we don’t know their situation). Rosebud seems to never have wanted to hurt her spouse, but the long term viability of their relationship was already in question. That is where the divide is.

My advice, take it however you will. Cut the snark, clean up the message and help all understand your endgame. It is just coming off as “destroy JD” hard stop. Most people here don’t care enough about JD, but the accusations are serious, and I believe that is why this thread is still going on.

I think we are all hoping this will be the final thread on this topic. Let’s get it all out there, get to a conclusion, and move on.

I am legitimately curious. Could you provide evidence from the documentation that shows there was an instance where JD engaged in sexual assault/harassment against Rosebud?

I've made this argument here before. I will attempt one more time.

John established the standard what he and Open Stories Foundation believe sexual harassment is in 2018 when he/they published Open Stories Foundation's sexual harassment policy. In it, it says:

"Open Stories Foundation considers sexual or romantic advances or innuendos by persons in a supervisory or
authoritative role toward subordinates within the same department or chain of command, or by persons
having authority over staffing or salary decisions, to be harassment for which disciplinary action will be taken."

John was emphatic in that post that he has never sexually harassed anyone, again, immediately after posting the policy from which the above is quoted.

So, the fact that he has admitted to an extramarital affair with a subordinate from the organization he founded and runs is evidence enough for me that he sexually harassed Rosebud, according to Open Stories Foundation's policy. All of Rosebud's documentation wasn't even needed, really. But it's helpful to document how JD approaches/treats female subordinates.

My endgame is to stand up for people who have survived sexual assault/harassment/violence. I believe Rosebud and I think a lot of people are making a lot of excuses for a man who has a lot of power in his tiny corner of the universe. And that dynamic is and always will be gross, and I won't ever say sorry for pushing back against it.

Where’s John Dehlin’s option1 & 2 email he sent after Rosebud (are we still using her handle since James doxxed her in the data dump?) sent her ‘blackmail’ email? There’s no way Rosebud doesn’t have that, and I find it curious that she didn’t publish it, especially if it has the potential to bolster her assertions.

Doesn't seem unexpected to me. Rosebud was quite clear in her texts with Joanna that if she noticed any efforts to make her the "fall guy" that it wouldn't be pretty.

Almost immediately after their text thread, Joanna went out and got a lawyer, and then it seems like there was some backchannel chatter that got back to Rosebud about John not signing the NDA and then there was Kevin, the other board member involved who was trying to give her $5k as "consolation" around the same time, and so she got spooked that she was indeed getting set up as the "fall guy."

Ok, so “destroy JD” is off the table, maybe, depending on the definition of destroy.

Well, I will say I think you achieved your endgame. Rosebud’s story is out. The part of the world that is paying attention to JD now knows some alleged facts about him and his sex life.

You brought the fight to the public domain, this is what you all wanted. Mission accomplished. You know you can’t control how people interpret the data dump. It is too much, too hard to follow, and requires way to much reading between the lines. Give us all the BLUF, which you have, and hopefully you and Rosebud will find some peace as people digest it.

It sucks that this has dictated such a large portion of her life. I don’t think that anyone here is rooting against here, they just aren’t where you are at with what the evidence shows.
