The Bible and Book of Mormon agree, God created everything E

Post by _Mittens »

Ex nihilo is a Latin phrase meaning "out of nothing". It often appears in conjunction with the concept of creation, as in creatio ex nihilo, meaning "creation out of nothing"—chiefly in philosophical or theological contexts, but also occurs in other fields.

The Bible and Book of Mormon agree, God created everything Ex nihilo

Hebrews 11

King James Version (KJV)
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Romans 4:
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Psalm 33
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Jacob 4:9
9 For behold, by the power of his word man came upon the face of the earth, which earth was created by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being able to speak and the world was, and to speak and man was created, O then, why not able to command the dearth, or the workmanship of his hands upon the face of it, according to his will and pleasure?

The supernatural elements of the Biblical narrative are the product of pious fraud. Same with the Book of Mormon.

Here's another, more recent example of pious fraud in action...

Mittens, do you believe that white men possessed by "homo demons" are trying to steal black men away from their wives?

as opposed to your theory that some chemical reactions are influencing other chemical reactions to produce a seemingly seldom occurring chemical reaction.
And yet there are still other chemical reactions which are causing yet another chemical reaction which creates chemical reactions that are only to disguise these chemical reactions from other chemical reactions.......yea...your theory seems so sensible...so real....so poetic...so beautiful....so smart.....yep

So, can I take this to mean you believe white men possessed by "homo-demons" are trying to steal black men away from their wives?

Wait, I just recently read about ex nihilo. Let me see if I can find it.

Here it is:
Becoming Like God Essay wrote:Likewise, Joseph Smith taught that the material world has eternal roots, fully repudiating the concept of creation ex nihilo. “Earth, water &c—all these had their existence in an elementary State from Eternity,” he said in an 1839 sermon.32 God organized the universe out of existing elements.

Mormons teach heresy and use Bible verses out of context. Notice in your link nothing taken from the Book of Mormon since creating things out of existing matter was not something Joseph Smith had thought of editing the Book of Mormon yet. Was something he discovered later

Mittens, how do you know the Bible and Book of Mormon aren't both the product of pious fraud?

Both it and the Bible are, to varying degrees, the product of pious fraud.

I suggest to you that "pious fraud" is an oxymoron that contradicts itself. One cannot be pious if one Is in the habit of deception. God tells us that lying is wrong.
