So what does it say about you that you also espouse a religious tradition built on lies and manipulations? You couldn't defend your dogmas about the Bible for a second, but you pretend to lecture me about the problems with my religious tradition (without paying attention at all to how I see them)?

Interesting the dogmas I espouse are taught in the Book of Mormon :biggrin:
Justice = Getting what you deserve
Mercy = Not getting what you deserve
Grace = Getting what you can never deserve

So what? You're still operating under the assumption that I approach the Book of Mormon and LDS tradition that way a fundamentalist approaches the Bible. I've tried to make it clear that that's not the case, but you seem insistent on ignoring me.

I treat the Book of Mormon this way :lol:

Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said: “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” How does maklelan treat it differently :biggrin:

So you're not going to engage anything I have to say? You're just going to lob these silly deflections at me?

I'd love to engage you except I hear just mean less dribble from you rather than true debate.

Eph 2:20 "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The Christian Church is built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets" while Mormonism is built on a new foundation of shifting sand that is false teachings, false Apostles, false prophets and a false Jesus father and holy spirit . Something makelan has bought hook line and sinker :lol:

Mittens wrote:Why would God tell Joseph Smith JR the Creeds were an abomination and professors were corrupt and the then give Joseph Smith the Book of Mormon which agreed with these Creeds and professors

Pearl of Great Price , Joseph Smith History

19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”

Perhaps in recent years some people think the Trinity is being referenced for rejection. The Thrinity is not mentioned with the criticism of creeds at first. Given the importance in Mormon thinking of both freewill and the expansion of hope for salvation beyond those who die within the church I think it is clear that the TULIP is the center of what is under consideration as an abominable creed.

What about all the failed prophecies, falsehoods, and contradictions in your Bible? I can acknowledge and engage any concerns you have with the Book of Mormon. You can't acknowledge or engage any of the concerns I have with the Bible.
