Mak is quite the scholar. Though I don't always agree with him, I admire his mind, and skill.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

I'm pretty sure it's a trap of some kind.

I've already decided on the school, and it's none of your business.

Episcopal no doubt! I think you'll have to bone up on communication skills - after all, ad homs and personal insults don't usually fly outside of the places you are used to!

They have never flown inside any of the institutions I have attended either, Catherine, no matter how much you wish your assumption were true. The misunderstanding is with your inability to distinguish between criticizing a method or argument and criticizing a person.

Oh, really, mak. Anybody can go to CARM and see how you personally criticize those who disagree with you. Too bad it's a "distance" degree, however, and not a traditional route. So, when you ultimately achieve this PhD, will you continue working for the Church, or set your sights higher? Of course, being in Utah I suppose employment with the Church is always the better option for a Mormon.

Anyone who goes to CARM will not only need a bath, but will also see just how manipulative, dishonest, dogmatic, belligerent, and bigoted the denizens there are toward people with whom they don't theologically agree.

The only difference is that I'm not in residence. All the other requirements are exactly the same. It's not a correspondence degree, it's a full doctoral program for someone not in residence on campus.

No, it's not always the better option.
