Not at all.
Servant wrote:Your Christology is simply Arianism.
Absolutely untrue.
Servant wrote:Mine is the traditional view of the Christian Church backed up by 2,000 years of Biblical truth.
No, yours is backed up by 1700 years of ecclesiastical and political authority, not the Bible.
Servant wrote:John 1:1 should be enough for any normal person to understand that Christ is God, God the Word made flesh...........unless they have an Arian agenda.

If you don't know Greek, sure.
Far better scholars than you have dissected John 1. Far better: Julius Mantey for one:
You portray yourself as the ultimate authority in Greek now, as well as Hebrew? Cut us a break. How about Joey Smith's translation of John 1:1 - do you agree with that monstrosity?
Mittens wrote:The Deity of Jesus in Book of Mormon and the Bible
None of this is relevant to any of my argument.
Why ? because there's a preponderance of evidence both in the mythical book called the Book of Mormon and the God breathed book the Bible that Jesus is OUR GREAT GOD who stripped himself of equality and wealth , forsook all that to be a man
Justice = Getting what you deserve Mercy = Not getting what you deserve Grace = Getting what you can never deserve
I agree with his discussion of the grammar, but his extrapolation of the theological significance is inaccurate.

I do absolutely no such thing.

It's not an accurate translation of the Greek, if that's what you mean.
Frankly, mak, you can't polish Dr Mantey's shoes, and your views are so biased in favor of Arianism, they really aren't even worth addressing. Jesus is God, and you simply deny the fact that He was in the "morphe" (the very nature) of God, as Paul teaches. You are simply an Arian, contrary to both the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

Well, you've tried to address them numerous times, but you've fumbled the ball and only shown yourself to be phenomenally uninformed every time. Who is going to believe that refusing to address them now is anything other than weak evasive rhetoric? No one, that's who.

Yeah, that's not what μορφη means at all. For the other deliberate mistranslations in the NIV, see here.

No, I've dealt with each of them in great detail many times in the past on CARM. None of you can engage my concerns, though, so you just retreat to posting links to websites in the hopes that something will stick. For instance, I've already dealt with John 1:1, but instead of actually engaging the argument I provided, you just declared that I was wrong.

No you haven't, you just blow them off as do most Arians. You are great for saying, "oh, I've dealt with all that," like you're some ultimate authority. Guess what, God is the authority, and you ain't becoming "god" anytime soon!
