Can't see why he's so reluctant to talk to you about it when you obviously have so much respect for him.

Mak, you fascinate the non-Mormons (like myself) and, I would imagine, intrigue the faithful.
I've always wanted to sit down with Glenn Beck, for example, and just ask, Glenn, I know the church helped straighten out your life from alcoholism and the problems that go along with it (and maybe that's a good reason to be loyal) but, seriously, what about all the problems with Joseph Smith?
All the best.

That you would even pretend to suggest that that means we are required to respond to all demands for our testimony irrespective of context shows you're either grotesquely ignorant of Latter-day Saint ideology or you just think people here are phenomenally stupid. I honestly don't know which it is.

Thanks for the comments, Roger. Personally, I don't think I would have anything at all to say to Glenn Beck.

I would go with grotesquely ignorant, Mak. That seems to be more of an appropriate fit to the backstory you're trying to create for yourself.

You're a rhetorical wizard, I promise, but you're just making yourself look ignorant. Whatever image of yourself you're trying to cultivate doesn't seem to me like it's going to work well with those of us who are out of high school. Save yourself some time and effort.

Thanks for the kind words and advice Mak. They mean so much to me. Especially coming from someone as credible, consistent, congenial and nonjudgmental as you.

Surely you can't be so deluded as to think that you have any leg to stand on vis-à-vis credibility, consistency, congeniality, or a non-judgmental attitude.
