Yes, I watched the video segment with the priest. He (like you) completely misses the distinction between discussing Creationism in a classroom setting versus adding it to a curriculum.

I suspect I know a little more about this than you do, seeing as how my wife is an educator.

Again, this is why you need to READ these articles before post links to them.
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately.

My wife is a private educator. In fact, she teaches not just a few students whose parents are public school teachers ----- because those parents are very aware of the inadequacies of public schools. And they want more for their own children and grandchildren.

In that case you should know it's not forbidden to discuss the Bible and Creationism in public schools. To assert otherwise (as you have repeatedly done) is less than honest--are you doing this on purpose?

See above.

Irrelevant.

So you cannot address the facts or the evidence, and just settle for asserting your arbitrary belief. Bravo.

Why would anyone ever really want to consider anything Gleason Archer has to say? He was a pseudo-academic joke.

My comments already address all this nonsense. Just asserting without evidence that "Lahmi the brother of" was changed to "Bethlehemite" is nonsensical. As I've said, no Philistine would ever name their child "Lahmi." There's also no reason for them to make that change. Going the other way is perfectly logical, though, and it fixes a serious problem in the text. You lost this argument before you ever knew it existed.

I can read ancient Hebrew.

You refuse to accept my learned opinion, and I'm the only one here who can engage the "learned opinions" you keep finding with Google's help.

By now you must have realized that the Nipper is unshakeable in his beliefs, whatever evidence you propose to him. That's one of the reasons that I decided that it was pointless to continue the discussions with him on this thread. You must know people that are like that at work.

I actually really like Nipper. He seems to be a decent guy. He is just so confirmed in his beliefs that no logic will move him.

I often wonder if people that drink the kool-aid are happier than people like me that require some proof of their beliefs.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

As do I. He shows us the path to avoid during wandering through the life.

Unfortunately, this doesn't make him .. khm khm .. nimble-minded.

And this makes him to be on topic in Mormon forums...
