The scriptures tell us, that there are TWO types of death...carnal death and spiritual death [separation from God, forever]. What about marriage?

The Christian ministry uses 1 Corinthians chapter 7 when advising married couples who have separated, to return to living together. They ASSUME that 'unbeliever' is equal to 'ungodly' and 'unrighteous'. In some cases, this is true, but it is not always the case.

An unbeliever is someone who does not believe in Christ as their saviour. This person may or may not believe in and follow the Ten Commandments, and may or may not carry out ungodly/unrighteous human acts.

An unrighteous/ungodly person may be a believer, but commits forbidden acts. This can happen even after becoming 'saved'. This person could even be part of a Christen church congregation, and perhaps, even be the minister of the church.

Romans 1:28 introduces us to the terminology, 'being turned over to a reprobate mind' [no further chance for salvation] in which case, the person becomes a 'zombie'...spiritually dead but carnally alive.

The scriptures COMMAND us to 'separate ourselves from the unrighteous/ungodly'. What if a 'saved' believer is married to an unrighteous/ungodly person, who refuses to change their ways, and God has turned them over to a reprobate mind? How do we, as 'believing' humans, know when another human being (even our spouse) has been turned over to a reprobate mind? First of all, if the person is our 'kindred', we would have to speak to this person, and try to convince them of changing their ways. If they refuse, then we should seek wisdom from God. Never should we use 'vanity' in order to base our decision on. God will direct us. This alleviates us from 'judging others'. If the person is not kindred, then simply separate yourself from this person...at ALL costs, including the necessity of finding a new job.

Unfortunately, our legal system and our preachers may not agree with this, because they are in the dark. Ignore them. Concentrate on following God.

Sounds like the perfect justification for divorce for any trumped up charge the "believer" can think up against the offending spouse.
