No, is something we can do about it: We can reject a literal interpretation of the Bible as a moral and a logical fallacy. We can concede the reality that certain parts of the Bible should be rejected as a guide for acceptable behavior.

I can't help but agree! This is the most offensive, disgraceful and hateful OP I recall ever seeing on any discussion board I have participated in! I am confident that most mainstream Christians would strongly and angrily disavow it, as would any just and rational deity.

I think there are ways in which the Bible is involved with arguments with itself. It is possible for people to adopt the darker sides of those arguments.
It is possible for a person to put pieces of the Bible together to come up with the view starting this thread. Erotic Apologist (other thread) has pointed out that Luther built the path of that interpretation into a road. I do not accept that interpretation and I think we have a responsibility in making that kind of choice.
