Nah, official, religious marriage between anyone other than royalty is a fairly recent invention (look it up). You should check these things before you post them.
Says who? The words 'husband' and 'wife' go 'way back' in the Old Testament scriptures. Try reading the Bible.

No answer, I see. Perhaps you do not know the history of marriage.
God made Man and Woman to be like Christ is towards His Church. The wife is to submit to the husband and the husband is to submit to his wife. The woman is to choose wisely a godly man. The woman who does not choose wisely--- suffers. Of course, the very same goes for the man. However, if the woman's goal is a sex partner, she may likely find that she made a mistake.
It goes without saying, everything we think, say, write and do, must be done within the context of the scriptures. God has set the 'parameters'. If we wish to glorify God, then we must follow His rules. Otherwise, we glorify Satan.

Thanks Nipper, for your completely unsubstantiated point of view. Now we all know the truth of things as per Nippers opinion. God's opinion probably doesn't hold much weight on this issue.
God made them to be Husband and Wife. Their copulation sealed the marriage ---- one flesh. God's opinion is one of the few things that can keep a marriage afloat. All one needs to do is watch the news to evaluate the inadequacies of other rationalizations.

Husband (husbandman) and Wife (women, wifeman) are English words. Nothing to do with the Bible except how they play into the King James Version.
I've read the Bible.
Now, go back and search for the history of marriage.
Uh duh? Of course they are English words. Isn't the whole KJV Bible? How about posting something that makes sense. If you want to believe that 'marriage' didn't exist until recently, then I guess you are entitled to your belief. I disagree. We are talking about God and how He 'connected' man and woman, and populated the earth. God 'blessed' His creations, and made rules. He hasn't changed His rules concerning marriage. It is what it is.

Obviously, you haven't looked it up.
Quote me some passages from the old testament about marriage.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Are you actually as stupid as your postings lead me to believe? Marriage has been 'defined' by God, in the scriptures. That is good enough for me. THE END.

You're not having a good day, are you?
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately. --Yahoo Bot

Book? Chapter? Verse?
Version? Language?
