About tithing. It was set up at a time when the church and state were one with regards to helping the poor and building the "Kingdom of God". I live in a system where the Church and state are no longer one. Yes, the government takes my money, quite a lot, and gives it to the poor (and builds roads, armies, nations, etc). I don't need the church to do that for me anymore. As far as building the kingdom of God...what is that?
I for one love these Book of Mormon evidences, although my participation and appreciation of the Church is not contingent upon any of them holding real history.
However, this reminds me of how Nephi first settled the Yucatan and was known by his people as Ysgramor and how his sons were among a group of 500 who marched to what would latter be Whiterun and established Jorvaskur and the Skyforge. Makes you proud to be a true Nord, Lamanite, Bosmer, Malachite, Jaredite, Dunmer, Orc, Breton, Khajiit or Argonian and still be LDS.

Peace to all. There is a quote from a Swedenborg book that if we considered Love for the Lord and Charity for our neighbor our chief concern then all hatred would melt away in a moment. The differences of opinion or Doctrine would not cause the seperation ( arrogance) that is currently the norm among especially the only true church. That is why I have quit attending the only true church and am trying to live by the teachings of Christ as found in the Book of Mormon and the Bible.
That love for the lord bit seems to be the root of much of the world's contentions. I would be fully satisfied with solely the charity for our neighbors bit.
