No, not even close. You keep mistaking me for someone who thinks science has disproved the existence of the Biblical Yahweh. Please stop mischaracterizing what I've posted. (You wouldn't keep making this mistake if you actually took the trouble to read other people's posts before cutting-and-pasting your latest wall-of-text.)

Would you now please explain why you think the people of Sendai, Japan deserved it when Yahweh wiped out 20,000 of them with an earthquake and a tsunami?

Or can I take your refusal to answer this question to mean you've changed your mind and now agree with me that Yahweh is a fictional bring who doesn't express his love for mankind through mass carnage?
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately.

People die every day. The simple fact is death and destruction are the result of SIN. God never made anyone sin. They choose to. The entire Universe is groaning under the weight of SIN. If Adam and Eve never ate of the fruit of the Tree God told them not to, there would be no death, the Deluge would never have occurred, and there would be no earthquakes! Because of the introduction of SIN there will occur terrible things until GOD judges the entire world and everyone who ever lived.

Right now God is withholding this final judgment until every last individual who WILL turn to GOD and accept HIM does so. Until then we must live with the curse of SIN. Those that reject GOD as their personal Savior, will be separated and sent to a place where the outcome of SIN reigns. Those who love the LORD will find eternal joy and happiness with their GOD, and there will be no more death or destruction.

I confuse you with someone who doesn't believe the Bible and makes light of it at every opportunity. Perhaps you are confused about yourself or how others may perceive your remarks. You may wish to pray about it and ask God to help you in that regard.

In summation, I believe that God wishes me to share His Gospel message. Part of that is through understanding where inerrancy plays a key role. It is not enough to believe there is a GOD. Devils believe that and tremble; however, they are still trying to persuade people that God is not who He declares Himself to be, introducing manmade religions that are aimed at elevating man to be GOD. This is the very reason Lucifer fell and this is what he promotes. Instead of GOD's will --- it becomes I will!

You should forget that whole lucifer thing. It is a mistranslation, and appears in many English version - never used in another languages.
Other languages --- I think you don't speak or read other than English --- use "morning star", the correct translation of Hebrew text. Or the Greek.

This is like calling redskins of North America as Indians. They have nothing to do with India.

Lucifer is the Roman name of Venus. The morning star.
Morgenstern in German. Hajnalcsillag in Hungarian. Svjetlonošo in Croatian. Eosphoros (Εωσφόρος) in Greek. Helel or heylel in Hebrew.
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Thanks ludwigm, There is lots of speculation concerning this. We get "Lucifer" from the following: Isa 14:12-15 (NIV) How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.
This should be considered as a sardonic title for the "anti-christ" or beast. He claims to be "Christ". He claims to be Messiah, and has his moment under the sun, but comes to be brought low ultimately. Contrast the real Bright Morning Star (Jesus): He lives humbly, does not boast, is not arrogant, is submissive to the Father... even unto death. Then the Father raises Him to the highest place; in the morning so to speak. Satan is a copy-cat and twists everything 180 degrees in a different direction.

Job 17:1-16 (Job speaking) My spirit is crushed, and my life is ending. There are numerous spots for me to be buried.

But presently I'm surrounded by mockers. I see how they taunt me.

Defend my innocence, God, since no one else is on my side.

You have closed their minds to comprehending, but do not let them win.

They betray their friends so that they look better, the son of such should go blind.

“God has made an example of me for everyone around; they assume the worse.

My eyes are swollen from crying, and I am just a shadow of who I was.

The virtuous gasp when they see me. The innocent rise up against the ungodly.

The righteous keep prodding along, and those with clean hands become supermen...

As for you guys, come back with a better argument, though I still won’t find a wise man between the lot of you.

My end is nearing. My expectations have vanished. My heart’s desires are vanity.

These men here believe night is day; they claim that light is about to come because it is dark.

So what if I go to the grave and make my bed there

What if I call the grave my father, and the maggot my mother or my sister?

Where is my hope? Can anyone discover it?

No, my hope will end with me in the grave.
We will rest together in dust!”

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 My spirit hath been destroyed, My days extinguished -- graves [are] for me.

2 If not -- mockeries [are] with me. And in their provocations mine eye lodgeth.

3 Place, I pray Thee, my pledge with Thee; Who is he that striketh hand with me?

4 For their heart Thou hast hidden From understanding, Therefore Thou dost not exalt them.

5 For a portion he sheweth friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.

6 And he set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And a wonder before them I am.

7 And dim from sorrow is mine eye, And my members as a shadow all of them.

8 Astonished are the upright at this, And the innocent against the profane Stirreth himself up.

9 And the righteous layeth hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands addeth strength, And -- dumb are they all.

10 Return, and come in, I pray you, And I find not among you a wise man.

11 My days have passed by, My devices have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!

12 Night for day they appoint, Light [is] near because of darkness.

13 If I wait -- Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my couch.

14 To corruption I have called: -- `Thou [art] my father.' `My mother' and `my sister' -- to the worm.

15 And where [is] now my hope? Yea, my hope, who doth behold it?

16 [To] the parts of Sheol ye go down, If together on the dust we may rest.

Fundamentalism is a philosophy of pain, anger, and vengeance. It's a philosophy that says the only remedy for pain and suffering is more pain and suffering. This is why it's dying out--good riddance!

LittleNipper wrote:The simple fact is death and destruction are the result of SIN.
No, this is not a "fact". This is a belief.

LittleNipper wrote:The entire Universe is groaning under the weight of SIN.
 Wrong--the universe is not collapsing. It's expanding. (Does "sin" have mass? I don't think so...)

In which case you have no cause to complain when others point out the falsehoods, contradictions, and absurdities in your beliefs.

It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Erotic Apologist. I am puzzled by your weird definition of pornography. I am quite sure the Song of Solomon is supposed to be erotic , happily so. I am equally sure Ezekiel has zero such intention. I cannot begin to conceive of either example to be pornography.

Are you just making fun of absurd definitions of pornography?.

I'm using a mixture of the Wikitionary and Dictionary.com definitions:
Dictionary.com wrote:Obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, especially those having little or no artistic merit.
Wikitionary wrote:The explicit depiction of sexual subject matter; a display of material of an erotic nature.
Granted, the Song of Solomon is a little closer to erotica than pornography, but "...she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses..." is pornographic by any standard.

My intent was not to talk about the NC-17 parts of the Bible so much as to focus on the relationship between religious conservatism and consumption of internet porn.
