Re: Bible verse by verse
Psalm 45:1-17 To the Music Director---- a wedding song of love -- By sons of Korah
My heart is stirred by a noble poem as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is quick as is the pen of a skillful writer.
You are the most outstanding of men and your lips have been touched with grace, since God has blessed you forever.
Fasten your sword on Your hip, powerful one; cover yourself with splendor and majesty.
In majesty ride in victory for the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.
Let your barbs pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies; let nations fall under your feet.
Your throne, God, is eternal; a scepter of justice also be the scepter of your kingdom.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore "Christ," the " Father" has set you above those surrounding You by pouring on you with the oil of joy.
All your robes are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia; (Myrrh, aloes and cassia together were only for those priests who stood between
the people and God. If myrrh, aloes and cassia scent the robes of Jesus, then Jesus is our priest who
stands before His Father in heaven for us.)
from palaces covered in ivory the music of strings makes you happy.
Daughters of kings with the honored women;
at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. (Perhaps India)
Listen, daughter, and pay close attention: Forget your people and your father’s house.
Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.
The city of Tyre (unsurpassed in splendor) brings a gift, people of power will seek your favor.
All glorious is the bride inside her chamber; her dress is interwoven with gold.
In embroidered garments the bride is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her— those brought to be with her.
Coming with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king.
Those you call your sons will take the place of your ancestors; you will make them princes throughout the land.
I will promote your memory onward to the future; therefore the nations will praise you eternally.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- `On the Lilies.' -- By sons of Korah. -- An Instruction. -- A song of loves. My heart hath indited a good thing, I am telling my works to a king, My tongue [is] the pen of a speedy writer.
2 Thou hast been beautified above the sons of men, Grace hath been poured into thy lips, Therefore hath God blessed thee to the age.
3 Gird Thy sword upon the thigh, O mighty, Thy glory and Thy majesty!
4 As to Thy majesty -- prosper! -- ride! Because of truth, and meekness -- righteousness, And Thy right hand showeth Thee fearful things.
5 Thine arrows [are] sharp, -- Peoples fall under Thee -- In the heart of the enemies of the king.
6 Thy throne, O God, [is] age-during, and for ever, A sceptre of uprightness [Is] the sceptre of Thy kingdom.
7 Thou hast loved righteousness and hatest wickedness, Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee, Oil of joy above thy companions.
8 Myrrh and aloes, cassia! all thy garments, Out of palaces of ivory Stringed instruments have made thee glad.
9 Daughters of kings [are] among thy precious ones, A queen hath stood at thy right hand, In pure gold of Ophir.
10 Hearken, O daughter, and see, incline thine ear, And forget thy people, and thy father's house,
11 And the king doth desire thy beauty, Because he [is] thy lord -- bow thyself to him,
12 And the daughter of Tyre with a present, The rich of the people do appease thy face.
13 All glory [is] the daughter of the king within, Of gold-embroidered work [is] her clothing.
14 In divers colours she is brought to the king, Virgins -- after her -- her companions, Are brought to thee.
15 They are brought with joy and gladness, They come into the palace of the king.
16 Instead of thy fathers are thy sons, Thou dost appoint them for princes in all the earth.
17 I make mention of Thy name in all generations, Therefore do peoples praise Thee, To the age, and for ever!

Psalm 46:1-11 To the Music Director -- by sons of Korah. A song for virgins.
God is our fortress and power, always there even when troubles come.
So, we will not worry, though the earth crumbles and the mountains as it were plunge to the depth of the sea, and its waters rear up roar and foam and the mountains shake with their surging.{Likely referencing Noah's Flood}
There is yet a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy place where the Most High hangs out.
God is with her, she will not fall; God will help her at the start of a new day.
Nations are in turmoil, kingdoms disintegrate; He raises His voice, the earth melts.
The Almighty is there for us; Jacob's God is our protection. (Ponder that!)
Come and see what the Lord does, the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He ends wars across the globe. He ruins weapons; he burns protection with flames.
He says, “Be silent, and realize that I am God; I will be exalted throughout all nations, I will be exalted throughout the earth.”
The Lord Almighty is there for us; Jacob's God is our protection. (Imagine that!)
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- By sons of Korah. `For the Virgins.' -- A song. God [is] to us a refuge and strength, A help in adversities found most surely.
2 Therefore we fear not in the changing of earth, And in the slipping of mountains Into the heart of the seas.
3 Roar -- troubled are its waters, Mountains they shake in its pride. Selah.
4 A river -- its rivulets rejoice the city of God, Thy holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 God [is] in her midst -- she is not moved, God doth help her at the turn of the morn!
6 Troubled have been nations, Moved have been kingdoms, He hath given forth with His voice, earth melteth.
7 Jehovah of Hosts [is] with us, A tower for us [is] the God of Jacob. Selah.
8 Come ye, see the works of Jehovah, Who hath done astonishing things in the earth,
9 Causing wars to cease, Unto the end of the earth, the bow he shivereth, And the spear He hath cut asunder, Chariots he doth burn with fire.
10 Desist, and know that I [am] God, I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth.
11 Jehovah of hosts [is] with us, A tower for us [is] the God of Jacob! Selah.

Psalm 47:1-9 For the Music Director. A Song of Korah's Sons.
Clap your hands, everyone! Shout to God for joy.
The Lord Most High is awesome and He's the great King over the entire earth.
He softened peoples and nations under our feet.
He chose our inheritance for us, the ambassadorship of Jacob whom He loved. (think of that!)
God ascended with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises to our King, sing praises.
God rules all the earth; sing praises with knowing this.
God reigns over the nations; God is enthroned.
The royalty among peoples are gathered, even the children of the God of Abraham. For the protection of the earth belongs to God; He is greatly honored.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- By sons of Korah. A Psalm. All ye peoples, clap the hand, Shout to God with a voice of singing,
2 For Jehovah Most High [is] fearful, A great king over all the earth.
3 He leadeth peoples under us, and nations under our feet.
4 He doth choose for us our inheritance, The excellency of Jacob that He loves. Selah.
5 God hath gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Praise God -- praise -- give praise to our king, praise.
7 For king of all the earth [is] God, Give praise, O understanding one.
8 God hath reigned over nations, God hath sat on His holy throne,
9 Nobles of peoples have been gathered, [With] the people of the God of Abraham, For to God [are] the shields of earth, Greatly hath He been exalted!
Clap your hands, everyone! Shout to God for joy.

Psalm 48:1-14 Psalm 48:1-14 A song of the Sons of Korah.
Great is the Lord, and worthy of praise, in the city of our God (Jerusalem), his holy mountain.
Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the entire earth, like the heights of Zaphon (A city on the East of the Jordan in the territory of Gad (Joshua 13:27) is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.
God is in (Jerusalem's) heights; He has shown Himself to be her fortress.
When the kings joined forces and advanced together, they perceived her and were shocked; they fled in terror.
Fear seized them there with pain like that of a woman in labor.
You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish shattered by an east wind.
What we heard we have witnessed, in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God secures her always.
Within your temple, O God, we contemplate your unending love.
Like your name, O God, your praise reaches around the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.
Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are happy regarding your judgments.
Walk around Zion, count her towers, consider fully her walls, view her castles, that you may explain them to the next generation.
This God is our God eternally; He will guide us even at the crossover upon death.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 A Song, a Psalm, by sons of Korah. Great [is] Jehovah, and praised greatly, In the city of our God -- His holy hill.
2 Beautiful [for] elevation, A joy of all the land, [is] Mount Zion, The sides of the north, the city of a great king.
3 God in her high places is known for a tower.
4 For, lo, the kings met, they passed by together,
5 They have seen -- so they have marvelled, They have been troubled, they were hastened away.
6 Trembling hath seized them there, Pain, as of a travailing woman.
7 By an east wind Thou shiverest ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so we have seen, In the city of Jehovah of hosts, In the city of our God, God doth establish her -- to the age. Selah.
9 We have thought, O God, of Thy kindness, In the midst of Thy temple,
10 As [is] Thy name, O God, so [is] Thy praise, Over the ends of the earth, Righteousness hath filled Thy right hand.
11 Rejoice doth Mount Zion, The daughters of Judah are joyful, For the sake of Thy judgments.
12 Compass Zion, and go round her, count her towers,
13 Set your heart to her bulwark, Consider her high places, So that ye recount to a later generation,

Psalm 49:1-20 For the Music Director. A song of the sons of Korah.
Listen everyone! All you who reside everywhere!
This means everyone—rich and poor, young and old, wise and foolish, humble and mighty—
My speech overflows with wisdom; my pondering will guide you to understand the nature of life.
I will cue my ear to enjoyment; at the tone of a harp, I will reveal my riddle.
Why should I fear when dark evils encircle me, when I am walking among the sin of evildoers—those depending on their wealth, who boast about their temporal riches?
One mere moral can’t grant salvation to another or make a payment to God for someone else.
Redeeming a life is expensive; and will stop at the end of an age.
That one’s body might survive and never face the grave’s decay.
Everyone knows that even notables die, perishing together with the foolish and the inept. All die—beggars and kings, fools and wise men. Their possessions left for others.
Although they wish to dwell in fine houses forever, their graves are their real estate. Their homes are for all future generations, yet for a moment they have named lands after themselves.
No one, regardless status, can live forever; he is just like the animals that perish and decay.
This is the destiny of foolish souls who have faith only in themselves; this will be the end of all those happy to follow after them.
The fate of fools is a hole, and just like sheep, death will swallow them. (Ponder that)
The righteous will rule over them in the morning, their bodies, their shrouds, rotting in the grave far away from their great eatates.
God will reach into the grave and save my life. He will fetch me and bring me into His eternal house. (Imagine that)
Do not be concerned concerning the rich and powerful as their notoriety and honor grow,
For they cannot take anything along when they die. Fame and glory will not follow them into the grave.
During their lifetime, they seek every blessing and advantage and praise you when you’ve done well.
Among the graves of the faithless is only eternal darkness.
Anyone who holds high position without understanding is like animals that perish and decay.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.
2 Both low and high, together rich and needy.
3 My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart [are] things of understanding.
4 I incline to a simile mine ear, I open with a harp my riddle:
5 Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters doth compass me.
6 Those trusting on their wealth, And in the multitude of their riches, Do shew themselves foolish.
7 A brother doth no one at all ransom, He doth not give to God his atonement.
8 And precious [is] the redemption of their soul, And it hath ceased -- to the age.
9 And still he liveth for ever, He seeth not the pit.
10 For he seeth wise men die, Together the foolish and brutish perish, And have left to others their wealth.
11 Their heart [is]: Their houses [are] to the age, Their tabernacles to all generations. They proclaimed their names over the lands.
12 And man in honour doth not remain, He hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off.
13 This their way [is] folly for them, And their posterity with their sayings are pleased. Selah.
14 As sheep for Sheol they have set themselves, Death doth afflict them, And the upright rule over them in the morning, And their form [is] for consumption. Sheol [is] a dwelling for him.
15 Only, God doth ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He doth receive me. Selah.
16 Fear not, when one maketh wealth, When the honour of his house is abundant,
17 For at his death he receiveth nothing, His honour goeth not down after him.
18 For his soul in his life he blesseth, (And they praise thee when thou dost well for thyself.)
19 It cometh to the generation of his fathers, For ever they see not the light.
20 Man in honour, who understandest not, Hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off!

Re: Bible verse by verse
Psalm 50:1-23 A Psalm of Asaph worship leader in the tabernacle choir, according to I Chronicles 6:31–32
The Mighty one and only real God, is the Lord; He spoke and the earth appeared from the dawn of time to its end.
Out of Zion, perfect beauty, God shines brightly.
Our God will arrive, and will not remain quiet; a consuming fire proceeds Him, and a strong storm surrounds Him.
He calls to the entire universe, and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
“Gather My faithful ones together unto Me, those who have made a covenant with Me with the sacrifice.”
The heavens display His righteousness, for God Himself judges. (Imagine that!)
"Listen, My selected people --- I speak, Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God.
I will not reprimand you for your sacrifices or for your burnt offerings that are continually before Me.
I will take no young bull out of your house, nor male goats out of your folds.
For every animal of the forest belongs to Me. I own the cattle of a thousand hills.
I know every bird of the mountains, and the creatures that move in fields are Mine.
If I were hungry, I would not inform you; for I own everything.
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and pay your vows to the Most High,
Call to Me in the day of anguish; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”
To the wicked God says:
“What right have you to define My laws, or take My covenant as your own?
You hate instruction, and ignore My word.
Seeing a usurper, you are pleased, and you act with those committing adultery.
You make evil accusations, and your tongue is bound with lies.
You sit in passing judgment against your brother; accusing your own mother’s son.
These things you have committed, and I remained quiet; you thought that I was like you are; but I will rebuke you and pass sentence.
“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I rip you to pieces, and there be no deliverer:
Whoever sacrifices a thank offering glorifies Me and makes a way; I will show him the salvation of God.”
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 A Psalm of Asaph. The God of gods -- Jehovah -- hath spoken, And He calleth to the earth From the rising of the sun unto its going in.
2 From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shone.
3 Our God cometh, and is not silent, Fire before Him doth devour, And round about him it hath been very tempestuous.
4 He doth call unto the heavens from above, And unto the earth, to judge His people.
5 Gather ye to Me My saints, Making covenant with Me over a sacrifice.
6 And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself [is] judge. Selah.
7 Hear, O My people, and I speak, O Israel, and I testify against thee, God, thy God [am] I.
8 Not for thy sacrifices do I reprove thee, Yea, thy burnt-offerings [Are] before Me continually.
9 I take not from thy house a bullock, From thy folds he goats.
10 For Mine [is] every beast of the forest, The cattle on the hills of oxen.
11 I have known every fowl of the mountains, And the wild beast of the field [is] with Me.
12 If I am hungry I tell not to thee, For Mine [is] the world and its fulness.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls, And drink the blood of he-goats?
14 Sacrifice to God confession, And complete to the Most High thy vows.
15 And call Me in a day of adversity, I deliver thee, and thou honourest Me.
16 And to the wicked hath God said: What to thee -- to recount My statutes? That thou liftest up My covenant on thy mouth?
17 Yea, thou hast hated instruction, And dost cast My words behind thee.
18 If thou hast seen a thief, Then thou art pleased with him, And with adulterers [is] thy portion.
19 Thy mouth thou hast sent forth with evil, And thy tongue joineth deceit together,
20 Thou sittest, against thy brother thou speakest, Against a son of thy mother givest slander.
21 These thou didst, and I kept silent, Thou hast thought that I am like thee, I reprove thee, and set in array before thine eyes.
22 Understand this, I pray you, Ye who are forgetting God, Lest I tear, and there is no deliverer.
23 He who is sacrificing praise honoureth Me, As to him who maketh a way, I cause him to look on the salvation of God!

Psalm 51:1-19 For the Choir Director: A song of David
Have mercy on me, God, because of your never-ending love. Due to your compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt. Clean me of my sin.
For I recognize my rebellious nature; it bothers me constantly.
Against you alone, do I sinned; I have done what is terrible in your view. You are proved right in what you say, and your judgment towards me is correct.
For I was born sinful — yes, from the very moment my mother conceived me.
You desire honesty from the womb, teaching wisdom even there.
Purge my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be brighter than snow.
Give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice.
Don’t look at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.
Create in me a clean heart, God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not chase me from your presence, and don’t remove your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
I will teach your statutes to others in rebellion, that they may return to you.
Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.
Open my mouth that I may may praise you.
You do not want sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not desire burnt offerings.
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. God will never reject a broken and repentant heart.
Look with favor on Zion and assist her; rebuild the walls at Jerusalem.
Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit— with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings --- Bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David, in the coming inn unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
2 Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me,
3 For my transgressions I do know, And my sin [is] before me continually.
4 Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging.
5 Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me.
6 Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know.
7 Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter.
8 Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised.
9 Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out.
10 A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me.
11 Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And a willing spirit doth sustain me.
13 I teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners unto Thee do return.
14 Deliver me from blood, O God, God of my salvation, My tongue singeth of Thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, my lips thou dost open, And my mouth declareth Thy praise.
16 For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give [it], Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not.
17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise.
18 Do good in Thy good pleasure with Zion, Thou dost build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then Thou desirest sacrifices of righteousness, Burnt-offering, and whole burnt-offering, Then they offer bullocks on thine altar!

Psalm 52:1-9 For the Music Director of David. When Doeg the Edomite had gone to Saul and told him: “David has gone to the house of Ahimelek.”
Why does a man boast of his wrong doings daily? Such is a disgrace in God's eyes.
Why practice deceit, and let your mouth plot destruction; it's like a sharpened razor.
You love evil rather than good, and making up tales rather than stating what's true. (Think on that)
You love every vicious remark --- such is a lying tongue.
God will bring you down to eternal ruin: He will grab you and pluck you from your shelter; he will pull you from among the living.
The righteous will comprehend and consider; they will joke saying, “Here now is the man who cared nothing about God and did whatever he wanted at the expense of others."
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in God's house; I trust God's never-ending love ----- forever.
For what you do I will always praise you. And I will trust in your name, because it represents what is good among all saints.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
To the Overseer. -- An instruction, by David, in the coming in of Doeg the Edomite, and he declareth to Saul, and saith to him, `David came in unto the house of Ahimelech.' What, boasteth thou in evil, O mighty one? The kindness of God [is] all the day.
1 Mischiefs doth thy tongue devise, Like a sharp razor, working deceit.
3 Thou hast loved evil rather than good, Lying, than speaking righteousness. Selah.
4 Thou hast loved all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 Also -- God doth break thee down for ever, Taketh thee, and pulleth thee out of the tent, And He hath uprooted thee Out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 And the righteous see, And fear, and laugh at him.
7 `Lo, the man who maketh not God his strong place, And trusteth in the abundance of his riches, He is strong in his mischiefs.'
8 And I, as a green olive in the house of God, I have trusted in the kindness of God, To the age and for ever,
9 I thank Thee to the age, because Thou hast done [it], And I wait [on] Thy name for [it is] good before Thy saints!

Psalm 53:1-6 For the Music Director. A song of David.
Idiots contemplate, that God cannot exist.
Such are dishonest, and their ways are nasty; there is none that does any good.
God perceives humanity from heaven to see if anyone can figure it out, and seek God.
Everyone is too busy doing their own thing, all have become nasty; there is no one who does any good, NOBODY!
Do all these evildoers know nothing?
They consume my chosen as though eating cake; they never call for God's input.
But there they are, overwhelmed with anxiety, where there was nothing to be concerned with.
God causes those who attacked you to be forgotten; you shamed them, for God loathed them.
The salvation of Israel will occur at Zion! When God restores his people, let Jacob shout and Israel be happy!
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 To the Overseer. -- `On a disease.' -- An instruction, by David. A fool said in his heart, `There is no God.' They have done corruptly, Yea, they have done abominable iniquity, There is none doing good.
2 God from the heavens looked on the sons of men, To see if there be an understanding one, [One] seeking God.
3 Every one went back, together they became filthy, There is none doing good -- not even one.
4 Have not workers of iniquity known, Those eating my people have eaten bread, God they have not called.
5 There they feared a fear -- there was no fear, For God hath scattered the bones of him Who is encamping against thee, Thou hast put to shame, For God hath despised them.
6 Who doth give from Zion the salvation of Israel? When God turneth back [to] a captivity of His people, Jacob doth rejoice -- Israel is glad!

Nipper, you are up to Psalm 53. I don't know how old you are, but you may have to turn this self-appointed task over to your children and grand children.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.
