JPatterson: what specific language do you and Rosebud want to hear from John in order to drop this public shaming exercise?

I posted publicly a week or two ago and have said repeatedly on Reddit that Open Stories Foundation should fund an independent investigation, an idea which now has broad appeal here among people on various sides of the debate.

The only way that could work is if both parties did a complete data dump, which we haven’t seen thus far. Both sides are being very selective with the information they’ve released to effect maximum damage, which I find to be an obvious ploy to gain sympathy. The problem moving forward is there’s nothing to be really gained by either party at this point. Rosebud might get a little bit of money, but that won’t alleviate her financial problems. JD has zero upside in doing anything.

I completely agree with this. But I think the selectivity has more to do with this playing out within the courtroom of public opinion rather than within an impartial investigation.

I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that both sides would be unwilling to do a complete data dump if they could be assured they're working with an investigation that is truly impartial.

I completely agree with this. But I think the selectivity has more to do with this playing out within the courtroom of public opinion rather than within an impartial investigation.

This is of course easy for me to say, but, if I were in Dehlin’s shoes, I would ignore Rosebud and all of the other people who have been stirred up by cranks, kooks, extremists, and Mopologists.

..I'm sure it's because I don't have a vagina, but with Rosebud chaotically shooting in all directions with allegations and little or contrived or confused evidence, I just can't get behind her claims, although at the same time recognising that she could have very well been subject to sexual harassment.

Funny, it wasn't my vagina I used, but rather my brain when I determined that Rosebud's story telling was unreliable and that I would base my decision on objective information.

So it looks like I've done a good job of ruining Lem's day...and others that are offended. Sorry about that. I've reread what I wrote and I'm in agreement with your assessment of it and of people like myself who express those opinions. Stupid.

Just to dig a further hole, but try to put more succintly the wider point I was actually thinking of at the time but deviated elsewhere. I feel that as a male that my opinion on sexual harrassment and related are frequently marginalized, based entirely on my birth gender. If I question matters then because I'm male, it's wrong. Also, that guilt of harrassment is automatically assume. I guess that's why I've come to a message board to post under a pseudonym... and ruin Lem's day. I realise the irony of posting that I feel that way having written the previous post. Oh well... I will do 100 lines "Thing carefully, nothing flippant and don't try to be provactive when you post".

How about letting the 10 year old extremely small case rest in peace? They had a consensual relationship, a bad break-up that probably merited Rosebud getting a small amount of money and that's it. What else is there to discuss? I haven't been following for the last few days but I assume you are still playing I have a secret, probably because you don't have much else to add, other than trying to keep the topic alive so as to inflict as much damage as possible.

I'd imagine John is worried about the legal consequences of apologizing for anything, given Anne's demonstrated history of lying, which could bring false criminal charges on John. John is extremely lucky that he has evidence which refuted her claim that he asked her for sex, otherwise A's claims of sexual abuse would be taken without question.
