why me wrote:I said this exactly on a different thread. People are over-reacting at the moment. Much better to take a deep breath and let the dust settle. But of course, quite a few members of this board, flew off the handle, willingly trashing the LDS church without seeing just how the policy will go into effect.
I will explain this to you once, and once only. The responsibility for reading and understanding what I'm posting is yours and yours alone. The policy is already in effect. Right now. The first words of the policy are "Effective immediately". As I said at the start, it's your responsibility to ensure you comprehend what that terminology means.
The same applies to the wording of the rest of the policy. It's clear, it's plain, it's unequivocal. There is no misunderstanding (except perhaps you) as to what the policy says. There is no misunderstanding (except perhaps you) as to how Bishops are to deal with the very specific situations detailed in the new policy. This isn't about people understanding (except perhaps you) the policy. This is about people disagreeing with it. End of.
Now, understanding what I've just said to you is your responsibility, not mine.
Of course, if I were out of the church, I would probably be jumping all over this policy like winnie the pooh and a bucket of honey. But...much better to relax and wait and see.
What a completely insensitive and thoughtless thing to say. People are contemplating suicide because of how this policy makes them feel about themselves and you compare that to Winnie the Pooh.
