Janis Joplin sings Bobby McGee in the studio for the first time. I don't know if it is as accessible as the album version, but I really like it.

OMG. I freaking LOVE Joplin. I still have all of my vinyl...a couple are her LP's. Great find, MeDot!

Where in the heck do I find a new needle for my record player? Do you know? The sound system is the old Sansui 6500 Quad with a turntable. I don't think that matters. Where do I get a needle?

If you lived near Silverlake in Los Angeles in the late 1960's, there was a mecca for late-night munchies, Pinks. Back then it was a trailer. At 3am you still had to stand in line for 10 minutes next to every other stoner jonesing for junk food in that part of Lost Angeles. The best cook was a young Asian guy who seemed to be on speed. He was a West Coast Proto Soup Nazi. God help you if your order began with a question.

That song makes me want a chili-cheeseburger with grilled onions. They taste better at 3am.
