God made man in his image

Post by _Mittens »

Genesis 1
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 11
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

Notice that God made man in the image of God,

God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit there distinct persons yet ONE GOD 1X1X1=1
Man is body soul and spirit 3 parts that make up one man 1X1X1=1

Hebrews 4
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

1 Thessalonians 5
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Man makes god in his image, and said gods seem to have whatever abhorrent traits consistent with the culture that created him.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Mittens is correct, but won't understand why.

A flaw in this logic is,

If there is no God, then nature created man, and man is nature, and man created God. Therefore, Nature created God.

We like to think of ourselves as "above nature" but we are not.

Did we create "civilization" or did nature?
Did we create "gods" or did nature?

Man created God, but who created Man?

There is a "truth" that exists. It created us. That truth, is God. God, as claimed in the Bible, is the "Living Truth." If you go to another planet, that same truth would be there. It wouldn't change from this world to the next. It would the same truth the created the universe. Truth didn't evolve. It has always been.

Manifestations of truth can evolve, but the truth itself is infinite and eternal. It has always been, it will always be.

Now, just for grins and giggles, let us imagine that man exists because of the truth. Something, in the truth, formed us. It doesn't matter that some of us tall or short, the truth gave us form. It forms our needs, our wants, our love, etc.

But be in the image of God, is more of a spiritual idea, as God is spiritual. We have within us the connection to the infinite. We have the ability think beyond the water hole and to wonder about other worlds and other dimensions. We are creators that can reach beyond the veils of illusion. We can change things in this world, in other words. We can live in our imagination, cave, house, palace.

We are made in God's image. That doesn't mean our bodies, or even our minds, but our spirit. We will go. . . . . forever.

But just like the Universe, we have a beginning. GOD doesn't have a beginning. He is eternal in both directions. We are eternal in one direction only.

Awww, isn't it so safe to believe in nothing?

Well, you know, I believe in nothing too. I believe that God is nothing. But nothing that is conscious because. . . . truth is still truth, even if there is nothing. Somehow, the truth creates stuff, out of the nothingness. I have an idea how, but nothing I can prove, exactly.

But some of the great sages of time have said, "Man, Know thyself." And those that make this effect to know themselves, believe in God too. Because you really cannot explain man without God.
