If your purpose was to have a worldview that included belief in certain things that were basic to you, so fundamental to reality for you that they are not negotiable, you would place value on maintaining them in a worldview that also includes evidence. I admit my bias. And I don't give a rats if you like it or not. It is a nice bias to have, because it is in line with what I feel are the manifestations of the Spirit to me. If you interpret that as closed mindedness, more power to you I guess. I'm not distressed by your accusations.

LOL Yes you like your bias so you can try and create a narrative to fit what you want to believe. Once I got rid of much of that bias I could look at the narrative being told by the evidence. That's is the real difference. I got to a place where I just wanted to believe what is true, and I am quite comfortable with I don't know. There is no nice bias if you want the truth.
Yes you interpret certain feelings and thoughts to fit into your narrative of the world. No surprise there. I was taught to do the same. Problem is there is no reasonable way to know that is true, and far to subjective that people will interpret to each persons narrative. Until you understand this nothing can be done.

Yeah. You gave up.
Not at all. I altered my beliefs according to the evidence available, or to, I don't know, if I didn't see enough evidence to be confident. Quite simple really.

No kidding. I'm dealing with a God that communicates via a type of telepathy. Its not my fault that you don't want that communication, or that you don't take it seriously. Rather than being a problem on my part, it is rather one on your part. Its your epistemology that is wonked, not mine.

Well franktalk, a poster here, thinks the same thing, but has very different ideas about what is being communicated then you. There are other people on this site and millions around the world thinking similar but get very contradictory messages. Not a reliable way to communicate, and no way so far has been demonstrated how to get a consistent reliable information.
And considering how much the mind can do on it's own, no way to show it's not the mind providing the experience.
Themis wrote:Which brings up the question why God will punish or reward people based on guessing which are the right beliefs.
God is trying to train us to be telepathic beings, beings who use the powers of the mind to communicate, and who use psychokinetic abilities to manipulate matter. He rewards behavior that leads to the exercise of these kinds of powers.
