Oh look! Is this a doctoral dissertation?

Oh my god. I read the section on the "history" of evolution. I don't think I've ever seen so much stupid crammed into a single document.

LittleNipper has just become inconsistent in his argument. He declared that god created the universe with the appearance of age. Now he has reversed his position and declares god created it with the appearance of youth. It seems he can't make up his mind. That would be because he finds himself amoung the scientifically illiterate that are incapable of comprehending the reasons that Hovind's pseudoscientific arguments are a fail.
Does he not realize that Hovind repeats his PRATTS over and over again? Yes all of his crack pot assertions have been debunked and are on record for any who have enough self-respect to educate themselves. But those who prefer to continue to believe in their voodoo religion will continue to darken their minds with any inconsistent position that comes along. They make the mistake of thinking that opening their mouth with anything is better than remaining silent. Even Answers in Genesis disagrees with Kent Hovind's arguments and recommends they not be used. In other words AiG finds Hovind's defense of their beliefs to be an embarressment (just as old earth Christians find AiG's defense to be an embarrassment).
That's right Little Nipper. You are doing more harm than good. Whenever an intelligent Christian reads the junk you post you create more atheists at worst and at best sow the seeds of doubt in the minds of others. So keep posting away. You are inadvertently educating the rising generation and saving them some money on their entertainment budget besides.

I think we owe it to the board to post the first page, at least.

I think we owe it to the board to post the first page, at least. My Acrobat version is not cooperating.
There is no way to highlight anything to cut and paste content but I'll write out a few paragraphs.
page 33I think it is not a coincidence that people who are atheists or evolutionists frequently have a wicked lifestyle or at least a lifestyle against the plain teachings of the Bible. Therefore evolution is an easy way for them to justify their lifestyle. The problem is one of philosophy, not one of science. They don't want there to be a god because of their wicked lifestyle. That is their real problem.
pages 45-46Evolution has brought the world so much trouble. This is one of the key tools that Satan is using here in the end times to bring the world under his dominion. Shintoism is the state religion of Japan. It is a mixture of Buddhism and ancient polytheistic myths about Japanese people. Shintoism teaches that the Japanese are descendents of the gods and are destined to rule the world. They teach that the emperor is from the sun god, the highest god. It was Shintoism based on evolution, that was responsible for Japan's actions in WWII. They were determined to take over and rule the world, just like Hitler was doing in Germany. Both of them were motivated by a desire to help evolution along. This goes right back to the Garden of Eden where Satan said,"Ye shall be as gods." From the very beginning, man has had a desire to take over the thrown of god and Satan promotes that desire by the teaching of evolution.
page 66Evolution is just a religion. We must establish early in the discussion that the creation/evolution question cannot be scientifically resolved because both are religious faiths. They are dogmas. They are what you believe. People come in to this argument having already decided what they want to believe based on their lifestyle. If a person has a wicked lifestyle and wants to get rid of god somehow, then it is only natural that he would choose the evolutionary idea to try to leave god out.
page 81We have a limited receptor, our eye. It is able to pick up just this brief range of colors from red to violet. Suppose that god decided to give us eyes that would be able to see the entire magnetic [sic] spectrum. We could then see radio waves, radar, television or microwaves. I don't mean pick them up with an instrument. I mean actually see them with our eye. I don't know if that is going to happen or not, but it could be that in heaven there will be brand new colors. I don't mean brand new shades or combinations of these colors that we are used to. I mean brand new colors.
page 87The theistic evolutionists have said that the six days of creation were actually epics, ages, or eons of years. II Peter 3:8, "A day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day with the Lord," is a commonly used verse to justify this compromise. This doctrine is silly if you actually analyze the argument. One reason the day age argument would be silly is to look at the sequence in which god created all things. If you would look at the sequence of creation, you would see why this argument is not reasonable or scientific. God created the plants on day three before he created the sun on day four. If you think the plants are going to survive billions of years without the sun, you need to study more biology. I believe god did that on purpose to make us realize the days of creation were twenty-four hour days.
page 101-102Jesus obviously taught in [sic] a young earth and an instantaneous creation. He talked about Adam and Eve being created,"God created them male and female." So Jesus would be a liar also if evolution were true.
I hope these snippets will convey the deep intellect that we have among us in the person of "Dr." Kent Hovind.

It's like an ignorant seventh grader learned to type.
Wow. Just wow. And yet we see many of these "arguments" on the forum, and frequently.

I think the above idea is true but incomplete. I am sure I do not know all of the answer and can live with that. I would add however that I think that God made creation and us in a way in which we participate in that creation.
So what? I could make all kinds of lame excuses. It still does not change the problem we have. This is just a lame way people try to get around problems in logic. Maybe we just don't have all the answers. We can use this for anything, making it useless for everything. Like I said, it's the best you got, which isn't much. This is why it is more reasonable to think God wasn't involved other then just starting the universe and letting things happen on there own. Your problem results from the YEC where it makes sense, but now we see that evidence shows a much older earth with evolving life, and it no longer makes sense.
Themis , I think there is sufficient objective uncertainty about Gods existence that I have at least a bit of understanding of what you are saying here. On the other hand I am perhaps not agreeing in part because I am not much taken with the idea of YEC making sense. I think it leads to problematic interpretations of the Bible as well as going against evidence.
I suspect yec inclines some people to see people as needing to return to the perfection of Eden. I do not see that as a productive active or loving goal. It short cuts the possibility of this life being an important creative business which we all participate in. YEC may fit well with such ideas as that this life is a test to winnow out the inferior folks. Instead I think life should be a discovery of our interdependence, a format to enhance that through creative shared exploration. I think the fact that our universe is bigger in space and time than we expect is an invitation from God to grow.
In the thread Philo Sofee reply to mikwut on discussion of God, Physics Guy is exploring some portions of the question to my mind quite clearly.
a relevant quote from him, replying to,
"The universe] is vastly larger and much more wasteful than a God ever needed to make it in order to give life on a planet."
...
Physics Guy replied,
Yes. Blaise Pascal thought about this, and wrote that the eternal silence of those infinite spaces terrified him. He had a definite point. And all those spaces are not even silent. All kinds of stuff is going on out there, on far vaster scales than ours. Why is it there? What's it for? No-one knows.
The immensity of the universe does seem to me like a knock-down argument against the little old man in the sky. We can forget about that guy. But to me that guy never was God in the first place.

The truth is that you don't have any idea what time is to GOD. The reality is that scientists (who have no consideration of the Divine) are placing the time perimeters. They are contriving the time sequence.
GOD made a walking, talking man (Adam) and not a baby. The Bible is very clear. I am intrigued by diverse theories. They cause discussion and stimulate thought. Evolution stimulates nothing ---- one either accepts it and enhances it or one is considered an idiot.

You say that God started small and made things more elaborate over time ---if you believe in God at all. Oddly, even the most simple of the smallest organisms have been found to be enormously complex.
