So, the very men who brought aviation to the world likely were of a "Christian" leaning. Although there are some unanswered questions. The fact remains that I'd rather a conservative "Christian" be flying the plane I was aboard, than some smoking alcoholic who had an all night'r with a prostitute the evening before and believes God is dead. Such would not make me feel comfortable that I was in "good" hands. Thought I do believe God would take care of me and perhaps the plane would be safe for the sake of the passengers and God's intervention.

My faith requires the Holy Spirit. You want to believe what some scientists say they know without any shadow of doubt regarding what transpired billions of years ago, that is totally up to you. It will not help you one iota with what is happening today or tomorrow. And the Lord who created the Universe in 6 days can and does hold my tomorrow in His hand. As for slandering a man who had a run in with the IRS over what constitutes what is taxable and what isn't is unfounded. Perhaps a separation of Church and State favors the State (likely another reason President Trump was elected). Tell me, where did Darwin study biology and graduate? Whatever political movement you're inclined to, we still live in a world where a lot of Christians are learning and teaching evolution. Same for secular history and the whole universe of sciences and study of other cultures. Those people do not have to require a young earth creationism for their religion. They have accepted a religion that does not wall itself off into cultishness and extremism. They know that knowledge and faith can be complementary in the lives of some people.

The thing about science is you don't have to take somebody's word for anything. You can check the evidence for yourself. This is just the opposite of what religion requires of us. You believe what some unknown person wrote down thousands of years ago.

That depends upon whether or not I might need medical expertise to save my life. You can show your faith by refusing medical assistance and depend upon the prayers of your friends and family if you prefer.
