Doc, you need to stop asking such hard questions, I think the mental pretzel has pulled a mental hamstring.

Primarily, some of the stuff that honor posted in regards to Jacob 5. I thought that was quite interesting. It caused me to go and do some further reading in which I learned even more. Often, when I read things that others have to say on this board it pushes me to go out and do further research/reading/thinking. It is THEN that I find myself increasing my awareness/understanding and learning new things.

MG,
What is untrue about the Book of Mormon and how has that moved you to a centrist position?

Yup. And you don't give any. And then you get all upset when I point this out...
mentalgymnast wrote:The way this question is written...I'd have to say, nothing. That is, nothing is untrue. To the point of your second question, that would be difficult to answer as I don't see it connecting with the first part of your question in a deterministic way. This seems to be a 'jello-y' kind of request, Doc.
Your original question was in need of clarification...as is this one.
When you say, "untrue ABOUT the Book of Mormon", what is it that you are actually asking? Whether Lamanites/Nephites actually existed...that kind of thing? It might be helpful if you could give me a list of those things that you consider to be "untrue ABOUT the Book of Mormon" and I can go through the list and agree or disagree?
As it is, the way you've put your question together, again, I'd have to say...nothing is untrue. On the other hand, there are lots of things contained IN...rather than ABOUT... the Book of Mormon which I take on faith and believe to be true. Teachings concerning the Son of God and His Gospel, for example. Wickedness never was happiness is another important 'truth'. Alma 32 and the development/importance of faith. And so on.

But have you thought of trying to find a more effective way of getting your point over? Your current mode is really not working at all well, is it?

Yup. And you don't give any. And then you get all upset when I point this out, and go on about 'party loyalty', 'throwing mud', 'attacking the messenger' and 'puppet masters'.
Sorry about that.
But have you thought of trying to find a more effective way of getting your point over? Your current mode is really not working at all well, is it?

But I won't.
